Let's Talk: EN players in JP data centre

So I made a video about the unwritten rules and etiquette in JP DC.

The reason I made this is because of the influx of new EN players as well as EN players that transfer from NA or EU to Elemental DC.
FFXIV has its own unique culture just like all games do, but this culture also differ region by region.

I want to open the discussion of how Elemental is a Japanese Data Centre with a majority of the player base being Japanese and the implications of what that means.

I watched that video and aside from the language difference and how folk communicate- this was like a mirror image of what I see on the Gilgamesh server and on the aether datacenter.

You seriously think NA players or EU players will transfer to a JP datacenter? xD I don't think so and if so then just with world visits to look at it for a bit but they said already JP will be off the table for datacenter travel from EU and NA.

So dunno what the panic is about. I think NA has the biggest influx of new players and everyone wants to be there now to play with Asmongold etc. The only reason i could think of why NA players would go to Elemental would be to escape the streamers as a sort of digital refugees.

To be honest what OP describes in his/her video is basically also the EU datacenter.

There is no shout/yell chat in hubs, not even for fc recruitment. Hunttrains wait for players to arrive, even in Eureka etc. players waited up to 10min for people to get to the notorious monsters back in the days. Players on EU also greet always others in dungeons. And heck in all the Dalriada runs i had in Bozja players on EU always waited for people to finish their cutscene and i had like 100+ runs...i am insane i know...

All these things happen on the datacenter I play on too. And I play on NA servers, and reading the comments here it happens on other data centers too. So why does this have to be about JP exclusivly?

To be fair there are differences. When i played for a year on NA it was a little culture shock for me. Like in Eureka players pulled Notorious Monsters on sight, not waiting a single second for all the players on the way. That's something you would be flamed for on EU. Also look at the NA hub chat. It's full of shout chat trolls mostly. EU is really really quiet same as JP.

I cant say about Eureka as I havent done that content. But as for shout chat the server Im on I can sit in Limsa for hours and barely see any shouts aside from advertisements and an occasion peechat yell. Emotes tho I see lots of emotes if I were to scroll through the chat.

Those who live in Oceanic region might. They generally fall under EU region but has lower ping in the JP datacenters, that's why they are getting their own datacenter soon.

Maybe on Shiva. On Zodiark we see shouts all the time and fc recruitment on the frequent (not to mention the RMT say and shouts).
The rest I have nothing to object, it all true that i suppose EU is more friendly and non egotistical than some larger groups in NA.
