I can totally see it going this route. I have no interest in the books/CDs, but you best believe I'll be petting any and all Emet minions I see running around. :3
Oh cool, an umbrella. I'll totally be using it haha...
I mean it would be nice for them to not lock things behind more cash shop items…but it’s SE so i know it’s likely. Just sad that we get less content and they can’t even give us the littlest of things.

I'm normally not one to complain too much about seasonal events but...
A parasol? Seriously? For the Rising of all things?
When Vahlnir agrees with my rants, you know its bad![]()

How can you judge the quality of the event if it isn't out and you couldn't even play it yet? Not liking the rewards from an event is one thing, but saying the event or the quality is bad just because you don't like the rewards is inappropriate in my opinion. If one doesn't like the Titania mount for example then the fight is bad or of low quality? Why is always the whole event bad when you just don't like the rewards? So I can't be the only one that was looking forward to seeing some cool glam or something from Rising event next week.
So we're getting a re-colored umbrella and nothing else worth mentioned.
I don't want to sound entitled but these seasonal event has really gone down in quality since like 2018 imo.
Thoughts?
Yeah I agree. This is the first event that I go, meh not even going to do it.
The summer event was disappointing but at least I could get a mount (that we see on mogstation in a year or two). Here it's an item i will never use.
The Rising is meant to be the anniversary event of ARR. So It should be a great deal for us who been around since ARR or before that.
Just cause you trash all the rewards from previous year doesn't mean we all do. With your mentality I guess we can cut out all seasonal events cause it just trash rewards, yes?
But I agree that Rising been rather disappointed many years. It was a nice nostalgia with the earring few years ago though for us who played 1.0 and the fate instance was pretty cool nostalgia.
I don't know why people say they want events here and there when the only thing they want is just in their eyes good enough rewards and the event itself completely doesn't matter.
Fair point. I think though it's safe to say many, myself included would rate a event based on the rewards when it comes to the seasonal ones.
Haha, I take it dude.

Ace does have a point though. The First Rising event I did, I was really just skeptical over it since it's just a minion for the event (note this was Ardbert's minion when I didn't do ShB yet and I had a skewed perception of rewards at the time with the previous event rewards). I did enjoy The Rising event overall though after playing through it. Got to socialize with the people in the first event, enjoyed the cutscenes, played a couple of songs, and had a good time overall. The Rising Events are usually always good, even if the rewards don't reflect well. I say to not worry about the result (the reward), but just the journey itself for this event in particular.
Though I'm more inclined to think The Rising event for this year will be more rushed since this year's event was supposed to be released after Endwalker. For all we know, Endwalker added more memorable characters and The Rising would feature a minion for that expansion, but due to covid and development delays, the actual expansion was pushed after The Rising's event launch. The rewards (and maybe even the content of this year's Rising event) was changed as a result. This is fairly likely since storylines & events are planned months in advance before the dev team gets assets to go into development. Covid threw a huge wrench in those plans in both development time and assets so it makes sense they would have to swap things out for this year's event as Endwalker is not out yet.

I don't use the umbrellas often but I do like its design. I'm really looking forward to the message we'll get even if the event itself is short.

I try my best to give credit where it's due even if I find myself butting heads with someone more often than not.
