The Rising - Another disappointing event

The quality of the seasonal events and their rewards usually always fall when the dev team are focusing on the next expansion, which is kind of a shame because there's usually a content draught for most players at this time (or rather a draught in content they would want to do).

I will say this again like I said in the thread about Moonfire: this was the first Moonfire to NOT have glamour included since it started 6-7 years ago. Them working on an expansion has never once stopped them from pumping out quality rewards and it absolutely should not. It really does not take long (an hour or two) to make an animation for an emote or to sew two pieces of cloth together to make a bikini in a design program. There is no excuse for it.

I'm sure we'll get a new Mogstation glam though.

They have bigger priorities right now. Covid set them back and it still has lasting effects on the their schedule and how they work and between how well received ShB was and how many players are migrating here from WoW, the video game community has a more attentive eye on XIV and on how well Endwalker is received. They'll want/need Endwalker to be as complete and polished as it can be, far more then their need to give you glamour that will probably collect dust in your armoire.

Not to mention to say it would only take them like an hour or two to make you a new outfit or emote while ignoring all the work it takes into actual creating not just the rewards but the whole event sound ignorant on how games and 3D assets are actually made, especially in triple-a games.

Usually events before the new expansion drops is more lackluster since all the development focus is going towards making sure the next zones/battle systems/etc. is complete and with as little bugs as possible.

Let's also not forget that this is the only expansion where the story is set to end by 6.0, not 6.3 where all expansions usually have 3 extra patches to wrap up loose ends and complete the expansion's narrative.

This is the only expansion where the post-patches from 6.1 onwards is the start of a new story arc. 3 patch cycles is a lot of extra time for the dev team to conclude the story, and this time they don't have that added bonus, so they have to it's fair to assume they're putting a lot more effort in the storytelling/music/timing to ensure the Zodiark and Hydaelyn arc gets a satisfying resolution.

I wonder how much extra workload this has caused since they already had the female version. By the sound of it they havn't retroactively fixed headgear and hairstyles but I could've missed something.

I agree that basically the past few events have been lacking. But that's a given considering covid-19 and the schedule they try to follow down to the bone on releasing patches/updates and expansions which covid affected. I'm sure we'll be back to decent events next year.

That's right. I didn't say it was. However we have recieved glamour pieces in the past and we're used to getting minions though.
I think most people would agree that not getting a minion is sad. Rather than getting a recolored umbrella.
