    Prohibited Behaviour

There are obviously many new players joining the game and i wondered if players know about the prohibited behavior and the chat rules the game has. Since they are basically really hidden and i can imagine not many players ever read them.

For example, standing with a giant mount on a quest npc is against the rules. Same as spamming actions in hubs like holy.

I have the feeling not many players actually know about all these rules and even some veteran players are puzzled when i bring them up.

Would like to hear your opinion on these rules, if you think they might be too harsh or if you like them as they are. And i also would like to know if you ever heard of these rules before.

For player effects I've turned down everyone's effects but my party, makes combat a lot cleaner looking- and you can hear spam but you'll not really see it. Not a comment on the rule, but just thought some people might like that one.

As for the mounts, of course it's annoying when people cover npcs but also sometimes I can tell it wasn't really on purpose. Particularly the big mounts it's like you go from too far to talk to the npc to your entire mount is running over the npc lol. Being hyper aggressive on that rule might lead to some unintentional victims I think. Of course we have seen people go overboard I think Asmon was a recent obvious example.

I agree with you on that, especially on patchdays etc. it's basically natural that players stand everywhere especially with their huge mounts. It just amazed me that players don't know about all these things, which is in my opinion SEs fault, they never really push the rules into your face so that you have to read them.

But they enforce them, as we saw with Asmongolds streamsnipers. I also know some players which got banned for spamming bluemage spells in hubs. It's crazy that people hear about these rules for the first time when it's already too late for them.

Hold x and you click right through them to the NPC.
A player doesn't have the ability to permanently prevent anyone from going about their business.

Yeah. Players can't cover NPC's to prevent access. Atleast they cant for PC players. Dunno if an input command like that is built into Playstation controller layout.

The only NPC related progess block was stuff like Raubhan and Pippen EX...

Console players just hit the X button, and it targets the npc. Assuming, of course, that you are close and facing the npc.

Most of the chat rules seem to come down to "Be polite, be a decent human being". You know, things that really shouldn't be that difficult for people. Things that really shouldn't need to be spelled out.

True BUT that's not the point. The point is that players who stand with a fat elephant on a quest npc risk to get reported for that. Doesn't matter for SE i guess if it can be prevented through stuff if someone takes offense in multiple players just standing around with their lunarwhales they could report them.

So as long as these rules exist that is always a risk. That's why i wanted to know if players actually know these rules, since most players i know never heard of them but i know some of them are actually often enforced. Like the holy spam in hubs.

Too harsh rules. Chairman rules but even stricter.
I don't do rule breaking but I don't condone someone getting banned for not walking on eggshells

Sounds like a fair opinion. Maybe SE wanted to literally have every little thing covered so "offending" players can't just say that it wasn't in the rules but i also feel they are a bit too harsh.

There are no eggshells, and there is really only one rule.

    Don't be a dick.

The long list of rules is just there for the special kids in the class.
