What are your guys opinion on the matter? For it, against it or just don't care? Also, how likely or unlikely do you believe the chances are of this happening in the future?

Edit: Or as Skivvy suggested maybe even a combination deal on the subscription. Such as subscribing to both on one sub for an extra few dollars a month.
I'm not interested in FFXI but have no objection to them doing it if they want to as long as it wouldn't affect the subscription price of this game.

I don't see it happening, though. FFXIV seems to be on very solid ground and FFXI seems to have enough people willing to continue to pay the separate subscription that SE has no incentive to combine them.

Blizzard made Classic a shared subscription with retail to mask the state of retail engagement to investors and they made that decision before Classic was even launched. They didn't make the change retroactively.

So are WoW and WoW Classic. The 2 games share almost nothing in common other than some class, NPC and location names (just like FFXIV shares job, NPC and location names with other FF titles).
