Us Jenova players are this way about Mint Dew'. If we don't see him afk dancing [usually songbird, sometimes popoto step or goobue do] in a late game hub it's a sad day.Aww... poor kid. I'd be heart broken too, ngl. There's an Ul'dah personality named Soft Cat on the Faerie server, she's such a gem who every so often sends a shout to let new players know to DM her if they have any questions or concerns. But otherwise she remains AFK dancing in a new glam every day and it's genuinely upsetting to see her not on sometimes ahah. It's like... a constant.
Hmm. Might make a Au ra male with the biggest horns and most scales named Sleeps Onbridges and just immers myself to a new level of play on the OP's world.
Solo Deaf Player doing solo deaf player things.
I don't know if you're aware that the /busy mode also prevents any interaction (very useful when you want to rush a house sale panel, because yes SE thought it was a brilliant idea, about the fact that you are unable to teleportation and house purchase in case of exchange window opening).
And the retainer's bell system is just one of some other methods.
Theyre too far away from the bell to interact with it to use that method, i tested it. And they have the chair symbol, 24/7. I've also often seen them disappear and reappear still afk with the chair symbol.
Ha! You'll be one among many,
You do realize you're actively suggesting trolling me in an abusive manner? And here I'm bringing up a suggestion with real points that haven't been successfully acknowledged by anyone that has disagreed, not offered any real solutions that fully corrects the problem, if it's not your problem that's fine, move along.
Why do you want to go there and be that person, if you can't be constructive move along.
Everyone that's getting mad and offering ridiculous suggestions with the notion that I should just get over it and shut up about it and that I'M going to make people suffer because they are scared they might have to log out when they're done playing the game, it's ridiculous.
All these negative and unproductive comments are also reinforcing a particular community mindset as well, it's unhealthy behavior. Grow up.
I've never understood it, why are you logging into the game to just afk all day, just 'coz you don't want to deal with the login queue? That's pretty childish. Unfortunately until SE fixes the ways to cheat the auto kick, people will continue to just login and afk. It's not been such a big deal on my server, I might have to wait 30s to a minute to get logged in but I've seen the EU servers get really backed up. How can anyone justify making others wait to login? If you're afk for a little while then that's fine, you shouldn't be chained to your desk, but if you're not going to be playing for a few hours, why login at all.
I've also seen a few people literally afk for days, they're not even playing the game they're paying to play. Makes no sense to me at all.
I too avoid Limsa Lominsa like the plague.
It's a very popular place for people who want to show their "success" to their Data Center, besides some complained that they could not show their beautiful glowing mounts anymore because on Shadowbringer, there is no capital that allows to have a mount like Ydillshire and its equivalent of the following extensions. As a result, they are going to land on the current barbarian tribe daily quest location.
It's important to show your success to the world, sometimes it's your new outfit or your freshly bought mount costing almost as much as the license of the game, so when it's compulsory you complain, but when it's optional you're fine.
I personally avoid Limsa's Zoo, except when I have to check some inter-server stuff.
Square isn't going to ban or punish paying customers for afk'ing in towns. It's not against the ToS to go afk even for days at a time.
I'm fine with it when there's no afk timer, and I agree about showing off glams and BiS gear and mounts, Mor Dhona was an incredible hot spot back in the day with all the ledges filled with mounts and glams, it was cool! But the team added the timer bc of server congestion and so more people can login without issue but then don't enforce it because most likely they didn't have time to patch out all the bypass methods, playing since 2014 and I'm starting to get used to the dev teams habits and constraints. It's both understandable and frustrating tho. Had they enforced it from the get go, not very many would be complaining that they can't afk all day and night because that would just sound utterly ridiculous. Everyone knows now since the first auto-kick timer was enacted that they said it was temporary and it was, same with the second time and third time, now we just have childish adults bypassing it not because they were told "hey there's a way to bypass the timer if you don't agree with our temporary fix for server congestion" but because they figured out how to and so now they're just doing it because can get away with it apparently.I too avoid Limsa Lominsa like the plague.

I completely agree with you here. It's actually a fear of mine that with this new wave of players coming from other games that have become trash over the years will come to FFXIV and start demanding changes that could make the game something worse or completely different than what we know and love now. just like the other games they left. I have nothing against new players and i welcome them overall, but i don't think it's right for them all to just jump in ffxiv as a horde and then complain at veterans about the servers that they themselves caused to overflow. This is square enix's responsability to fix and i believe they will because as a veteran who has played since arr began i have seen mostly good things from square enix in taking care of our game. I'm not saying new players can't have suggestions or feedback for the game. Just that it's simply childish to barge in creating the large queue's themselves then complain about older players who have supported this game for a long time just because those older players afk like they always have.I think some newer people don't realize there is a established community here and just because the game is new to them they think it should change. That is the problem with a mass exodus and then a mass influx. So many of those people hanging out probably have been players for years.
These new players probably don't understand that before they joined ffxiv there was no afk kick timer.........those timers are only usually implemented for a short time after a new expansion goes live and then turned off once the server population settles. It's not anyones business how others play the game and if they afk or not, and the fact is complain as they may there is literally nothing they can do about people who bypass the afk kick and in my opinion that is rightfuly so. Imagine if square actually banned a player because they had to leave their pc while ui edit was up or something. That person would get banned for not INTENTIONALLY avoiding the timer. You can never prove intent with these things and even if you could it's obviously not a bannable offense or even specifically against ToS. I don't know what server they are on to be that upset about it, because every morning when i login at most i see a 60 or so queue (even in the active evening hours it doesn't even go higher than 100 people) and it literally takes less than a minute to get logged in. If someone is so upset and impatient about waited 1-3 minutes to login then they have other issues with themselves as a person they probably need to address before even considering telling others who have mostly supported this game for years how they can and can't play the game.

Never have trouble logging into the game and I play with multiple characters on multiple servers and DC's. Perhaps your friend should actually buy the game and not expect priority with a free trial. The game is not giving priority to those anymore given the huge number of new PAYING customers.I'd like some community feedback, even though I know how that usually goes - Have you or any friends not been able to login because of queue times? Do you think SE should start investigating these mass citystate all day afkers? Do you think it's pointless? How? Why? Would it not do a thing? How? why? Would it help with getting at least SOME people online? How? Why?
An entire DC is under lock down because of those new accounts and it's probably going to get worse before it gets better.
