I dislike the WoL but for the complete opposite reason lol. I feel like too many of the dialogue choices lately have been too rude, sassy, or just simply something I wouldn't like my WoL to say. I am really fond of a nice, silent protagonist that I can easily insert myself into.

Personally I don't like that Au'ra female from the Bozja storyline, the one who I can't even be bothered to remember.
She was so boring and I hated watching her be able to somehow perfectly dodge through every mechanic without moving while I'm being forced to do them because of that dumb cheesy buff that kills any build variety outside of pure damage ones.
It's unfortunate, but I don't have a good rebuttal. It's one of those feelings one simply has about a character.I'd argue that Hien isn't one dimensional, though. Especially when compared to Zenos. Imagine, for a moment, that it was Yotsuyu rather than Hien who decided to flood Doma Castle and sent the invading Doman forces to a grim and watery grave crushed beneath debris? The narrative would be that such an act is 'unforgivable', especially with how cruel a death drowning happens to be. Yet in reality, it is Hien who embraces such a plan in order to minimise losses where his people are concerned. In addition to that, he effectively drags the Xaela into a war that does not concern them so that his people are exposed to less danger as a consequence. He hides a tactical, opportunistic and somewhat sinister mind behind all the charm. Then, of course, there's the way in which he simply wanted to brush the issue of Yotsuyu under the rug as an inconvenience.
He was never really presented as a perfect hero whose every decision was perfect and without consequence. Which makes him inherently more intriguing and interesting than most of the other City State leaders who bend over backwards to apologise for their supposed sins.
Some you simply don't connect with.
The things you listed are simply what a leader *would* do as well. For the greater good of their people, leaders do what they must, even if there is inherent evil in their actions. Still, in my eyes it was predictable and less because of his personality or character that these conclusions were made but as I say before for the good of his own people. It would have been intriguing for him to do it out of curiosity's sake of what would happen if hmm I pressed this button.
That said, we can agree on Graha Tia.
He is SEs attempt to a male Yshtola I can only imagine.
Im glad Im not the only person with a dislike to Cid. Honestly don't really get why people like him so much.
I feel this.
I, like all other male miqo'te, look super dopey in cutscenes. The default idle pose was not well thought out (why do i look down all the time, every single race beyond lalafell is taller than me). Paired with the fact that the most we all do in cutscenes is a stoic nod and the occasional lip flap to recap the thing we just saw to other. Also paired with out our general mary-sue-ness (we're LITERALLY self-inserts). We are the worst character in the story.
That said, it wouldn't be as bad if SE didn't write us as this god amongst men. It was nice at the beginning of ShB when nobody knew who we were again and we were just random adventurers. Similarly at the beginning of HW when we were disgraced and nobody in Ishgard cared or wanted to give us the time of day.
Lyse
I liked her well enough when she went by the other name (trying not to give away spoilers), but when she became Lyse, she was so obviously just there as eye candy and nothing more. I found it very annoying.

Umm, sorry but I still don’t care at all and didn’t bother to read any of that. It’s fine if you like him, good for you. There are plenty of characters people have said they dislike in this thread that I don’t agree with their opinion at all but I just ignore it because people are allowed to dislike whoever they want to.(Slowly raises an eyebrow)--- Gaius? Your least favourite?
I beg to differ-- and I say so shamelessly because I'm a massive fan. He is arguably one of the most well-written characters in the entire game and I wager you say that because you likely skimmed through his whole story from ARR onwards. You obviously didn't know him back in 1.0-- he was actually more impressive and one would think he had Sun Tzu's Art of War in his back pocket at all times. Matter of fact, at some point-- several years ago-- he was so popular that some players speculated he was related to Solus and would become Emperor.
He was literally the face of the Empire in all the 1.0 commercials --same as how Derplander was the face for the NA and European commercials (while Y'shtola became an instant favourite in Japan). Plus, his "Vadar-like" voice acting back then was absolute perfection-- not the "forced" voice used by his ARR voice actor.
Wait till I find my videos of his three dreadnaughts constantly flying over Limsa, Ul'Dah and Gridania before Dalamud fell-- just menacingly flying over our heads, silently watching, silently waiting. It was almost unnerving and yet one had to hand it to the guy-- he had style.
- First off watch (THIS)-- where he took on all the Scions solo
- Then watch (THIS)-- where he has an insightful discussion with the WoL
- And THIS where he cleverly hands you the intel needed to foil Nael's plans
This chap was Emperor Solus' favourite Legatus, conqueror of five cities, ruthless executioner of nine aspirants to the throne, and he secured Ala Mhigo for Garlemald with very minor casualties without having to forcibly invade it-- he was such an exemplary tribunus angusticlavias of the XIth Legion that the Emperor created the XIVth Legion just for him.
And that's just his back story-- if his later tales didn't evoke the feels then the entire nuance of this great charcater has escaped you.
ShB was pretty soap opera tbh. The whole father vs father for custody of the child. Yshtola’s relationship with runar, exarch etc.Story isn’t as engaging as much as it is trying to be too dramatic.
