Pulling During Cutscene

I was one of the "white knights" if you want to use that term that called someone out on this last night.

The Dalriuda. We had one of four dragoons in a cutscene. We yelled, "Got a cs here" and as soon as we said that, somebody pulled.

I said in yell chat, "What part of someone in cs didn't you read?"

1. Didn't name names, just was annoyed at whoever pulled
2. This is the ESTABLISHED ETIQUETTE in the game to wait for a cutscene. No, it's not against ToS or anything, but it's the virtual equivalent of not holding the door for someone and instead letting it slam in their face.

I could understand if this was one of those runs where we were relatively underpowered, but not so much that it triggered the Echo buff, so the fight dragged on for an hour..... No, it was one of the smoothest Dal runs I've ever had, and we were at the last boss in about 25 minutes.

Just wait the frigging 20-30 seconds. Take the opportunity to stand up and stretch. You've probably been sitting too long by that point anyway.

No it wasn’t. It was brought up in response to someone telling them to schedule their time better if they can’t wait an extra minute in a duty. OP brought up the whole job excuse first, as if it were some sort of justification.

None the less it was a reply about time management and free time. Who gets to dictate what a person can and can not do with theirs? Not everyone has the time to get done everything they desire or feel necessary. So the response in this thread has been to not play. Or limit themselves to the most minuscule content that wouldn’t allow a player to level at an adequate pace or cap tones weekly after the increase to 900.
Yes op, do not play or limit yourself. I’m sure the devs agree you should not play the game, or at the very least, parts of it

Again, most of us have jobs though. It’s an excuse plain and simple. 1 minute cutscenes aren’t going to make the difference on whether you can use DR or not. If it did then you couldn’t use DR at all because the possibility you’ll wipe once could eat more than that cutscene cost you. Using the excuse of limited play time to defend ruining other players’ experience falls pretty flat on someone like me who has a full time job and a baby that eat up my time.

There is nothing, simply nothing, that waiting upwards of a minute is going to cost you in terms of playtime and since you get an extra bonus for running this through DR and an extra one in top of it for running it with a first time player the idea they are not getting to use it to level up their character is just wrong. If someone was in a rush to get through a dungeon for some reason why not us PF? The answer is obvious, they get more XP and can get into the content faster by using DF. Well the trade off for that is you sometimes get placed with new players on their first run who want to watch the cutscene.

This is just like every other DF thread in that people want to continue getting rewards for it while not having any of the responsibility that using DF is supposed to carry. DF isn’t there to give you free XP and tomestones. It’s there to encourage you to rerun content so others can do it. That means rerun the content in full.

Hello, I don't know if someone mentioned it before (a lot of replies), but there is this one instance when pulling right from the start, ruins gamepley feeling. It happened to me, as a new player in Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak, there at the end is this lenghty cut scene. I saw the fight started, but decided to watch it to the end, and join the battle. Well, fight was shorter than listening to npc talking, and when it ended i was just congratulations and standing in empty room. Yay i got all the prizes, but it felt kinda sad. I know you can redo the dungeon, but it's not same as a first time, especialy when you like the lore and read and watch everything how it unfolds.

This is the very reason why people shouldn't pull when players are watching the cutscenes and the very reason MSQ roulette got forced cutscenes.

I wouldn't consider my sarcastic comment being rude. It a absurd excuse to begin with that cause you have a full-time job you're in the right to early pull - cause that's how it's coming off to me.

It's like hunts, some people - especially in NA from what I understand can't wait a few minutes to allow others to get to the location in time. People are just being egotistical and think world spinning around them. And in a MMORPG of all.

Sometimes it happens on accident. I know I auto-pilot dungeons a lot so if I'm not paying close attention I'll just pull the boss.

It's not intentional, but it is unfortunate. Just gotta accept that.

This is only a problem because SE has decided to add lengthy cutscenes to content people are wanting to farm. Personally I think during the first few weeks, it is courteous to wait for everyone to finish their cutscenes before pulling. Now that we are months and years into most content, I don't really think one needs to wait.

It is usually a common courtesy to let others finish their cutscenes before pulling anything. That is why it's an issue. When you are in a group setting, the world stops revolving around you.

Yes, and it works both ways. The world does not revolve around the person watching the cutscene. Ultimately, if you really want to watch a cutscene you can view it again at an inn.

I think we should still wait for them, as waiting for the cutscene (regardless what it is) sets the example for the newer player to follow. Look at it this way, do you want to skip through a cutscene, have a newer player learn it's OK, then have them return the favor to you when you wanted to watch the cutscene?
