I've pulled during cutscenes before, but it's usually an accident. Sometimes I get a little trigger happy and forget to check if everyone is present and accounted for.

If you get the "new player" warning at the beginning of the dungeon then waiting for cutscenes is just common sense; if you don't you're a jackass. If no one is new but someone's still watching cutscenes then pulling before they're done isn't a huge deal, imo.

Damn, if only the chat said this message the first time you que into an instance. Maybe people should expect folks on their first time in an instance to want watch all the cutscenes, you know, like they did their first time.

Really the only Solution is to give folks who want to skip all cutscenes a "impatient que" with all cutscenes disabled, or atleast a que that won't pair you with anyone seeing the content for their first time.

That'll never happen. The entire point of roulettes is to give new players a way to consistently get groups for the story dungeons. SE isn't going to give people a way to avoid running them with new players.

Tank is the person to set the pace of the group. If he wants to pull during cutscene well within his or her right to do it. If they feel they can start the fight while you enjoy the show, I'm not sure why that bothers some people. *shrugs*

I feel like it's a dickmove cause it will cause people who is new in the dungeon possibly skip the cutscene they might want to view for x reasons or miss big parts of the fights.

I didnt like when MSQ roulette got locked cutscenes but I also remember running them first time feeling the need to skip them to see the fights. This was back in 2013 so before they forced everyone to see them.

It pressures the new player to skip the cutscene; they even get a potentially misleading warning that the boss chamber will lock them out in 15 seconds.

I've seen people pull on new players, and most of the time the new player will bail on the cutscene because they're afraid they'll be locked out of the fight entirely, or they don't realize their absence isn't going to cause a wipe and anger everyone. Waiting for the cutscene allows the new player to enjoy it without feeling like there's a gun to his head.

Incorrect. In the old days of MMO sure, but now with the change of how FF14 is with linear dungeons and wall to wall pulls (which BTW both SE and the player base have made the norm) everyone needs to agree on the pace.

If the tank wants to wall to wall pull but the rest of the group aren't comfortable with it, then the tank needs to compromise, leave, or make a PF group. One person dictating the fun and what others do in a public game is incorrect.

I also want to add, pulling during CS can happen by accident. I've had lag spikes or not paid attention then WHOOP, the boss charging myself or another player in the group. A fair amount of times apologies were said and we moved on. Very, VERY rarely has anyone lost their head and freaked out.

I guess I did not see it that way. It is a perspective I did not have thanks.

For me it never bother me when I was new, or when it happens on something I never seen. I am just like cool, they helping me out by getting it down some while I watch the show. So I guess some people don't see it like that.

I watch the cut scenes my first play through. I appreciate those who give me the time to watch the cut scenes before pulling. But I know time has value and not everyone has the luxury of waiting. Once I found out you could teleport into the battle even after it has already started it hasn't bothered me too much. If the group can deal with one less dps that's fine with me (me being the dps). Now if they start pulling when the healer is still watching cut scenes, that's another story. I guess I'll see how I feel about that after I start leveling the healer jobs.

Pulling while in cutscenes: I consider this bad etiquette. Is it allowed according to the TOS? Probably. Does that make it okay? No. It's like, it's legal for me to fart in a crowded elevator when I could have held it in, that doesn't mean I should do it. Playing a social game in a co-op PVE duty suggests you should be prepared for working as a group.

Complaining about early pulls: Getting angry is completely fine, so long as they aren't insulting or attacking. Saying "Hey, that is considered rude! I don't like that you did that at all!" is acceptable, it's like filing a complaint. You can be angry when you do it. Just don't make personal attacks and you can call them out as you need to. If you make a personal attack, that doesn't make the puller right, but it does make you abusive, and you should be able to get your point across without losing your own social skills.

I was in a dungeon where melee LB3'd early and then we had a lot of deaths afterwards. Someone complained and was abusive towards the melee for LB3'ing when we still had some way to go and now we couldn't use LB3 for the instant revive. I agreed that the LB3 was badly timed but I reported the abusive person, as did two others. You can complain, but being abusive is never okay.

I do think it would be very nice if the game implemented a system where, should someone who was new to the dungeon be in the duty, you were unable to engage with the enemy during the time that a cutscene is in effect. This means you couldn't even log out and come back in and engage (I know people do this at times) - the target would simply not be able to be attacked. If this could be done (and again, only to trigger when a new player bonus is in effect) then I think it'd save everyone a lot of wasted breath.
