    SE: Please tone it down a hair

    I applaud your writers and their use of every single page of the Infinity Flux Time Extensive Thesaurus of large words and fancy idioms but I'm begging you.

    Please stop.

    Pretty much every encounter with the Empire is a pretty good example of over doing it. Cloud an NPC's words in mystery and perhaps some foreshadowing riddles but not a 5 pages soliloquies about the nothingness of still could be happenings of what was once never there. I fancy myself an intelligent creature but trying to decipher every single sentence because it is so overladen with foreign Yoda speak is bringing down my self worth as a thinking man with every syllable.

    This is what PLers actually believe. May Altana have mercy on our souls...

    The writing on this game is so bad I don't even stop and see whats going on anymore. I force myself to do it in the main storyline missions... but god. The dialogs are impossible to believe.

    And they are all god damned 5 paragraph monologs.

    Lol..the writing in this game is quite a few leaps above the forced 'epic' writing of games like Skyrim and Tera >.>

    Hm... I like the writing. I think a lot of people are rushing through it because they are in a hurry, but I don't think the dialogue or background that is in the cut-scenes, etc is difficult to understand. IF people actually read it, though, is another matter. If SE took the same words that are written and have it voice-acted, I scarcely believe anyone would complain then.

    Hello,

    If you are referring to the choice of words used and the way sentences are made, I can understand your difficulty. It is by no means the modern vernacular, choosing rather to rely on words that are less common but more prominent in slightly archaic literature.

    I think it is healthy and to be admired that they choose to keep it more sophisticated. Also gives it that sense that it's 'English' but not quite 'English'. Almost if you are reading Olde English of Yore ^.^;

    Isolating a large portion of your userbase in the name of semantic complexity is a bad idea. We're playing a game, not analyzing The Divine Comedy.

    I hope I'm not the only one that enjoys reading everything and understand the amount of effort the Lore and Localization teams do their thing.

    I'd rather have a bunch of dialogue than Skyrim's slow pace single line banter between NPCs.

    It's all the imagination, yo.

    And really, the only time I've ever had trouble understand the archaic Engilsh was in Limsa with the Southern accents.

    The level of detail and effort put into localization in this game is amazing, and is one of the few things the dev team did right from the very beginning.
