Account suspended for trying to report a link in chat log

So this guy (apparently) knew it was a phishing scam link, logged in using the phishing scam link, and "reported" the scam to the scammers?

No I know that but he did log in to make the report so they would have been able to gain access.

If he logged in using the link in chat after he copy and pasted then he never went to a Square Enix site, he only went to the phishers website. So I don't know whether his report actually went through to Square Enix. Maybe send another ticket just in case?

To report someone in game in the future open the main menu, go to "support desk" and click "contact us"

I don't want to sound mean, but if they LOGIN on a obviously fraudulent link - they kinda deserve the ban....

Wouldn't matter in the phishing scams, they ask for that too, and log in before it expires

They do matter, people mess it up too much manually, or even login to the account website and that uses it up and you can't remove it there without the key.

I said in terms of the phishing scams. It wouldnt have prevented this issue.

I agree they are good to have. Mines had one since the 1.0 CE arrived with it back in 2010.

My partner has had their account suspended because they tried to report a link in the chat log the person who put the link in chat took control of his character and took them to another world and started spamming the link into the chat log his account was suspended because of this when he was trying to make them aware of this he has submitted a ticket but been waiting on reply live chat does not work and no reply from anyone what can we do to get his account unsuspended?

I'm going to assume the victim in question thought that only the "post" in the phishing link was fraudulent, not the link itself.

Though that in itself is flawed because you don't need to be logged in to view posts on the official forums in the first place.
