It takes a lot for me to be excited, like the promise of GNB for Shadowbringers. After finally getting that...it's hard to be excited anymore since that is what I wanted most since ARR.I am looking forward to Endwalker though!

Very excited overall. Not excited about seeing the Scions once again to be honest, probably my biggest gripe with the story. I wish we would get new group of people to hang out with, like Ascians, someone from Garlean Empire or even Zenos
I'm sorry I just have today this i can't stand Zeno's with his big booty. Should have been Zeno's Kardashian hahahaha. J/K but that butt, just no...
Enjoy Life you only get one.
I'd say like Theodric, I'm just cautiously optimistic. I've yet to cross the threshold into excitement about it.
I am keen to see what the new job abilities are, where the story for the current arc finishes, where their future plots are going and what the new 8 and 24 man raid content is like. I'll reserve judgement up until then.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
Not very excited. Wasn’t happy about the story direction in ShB post patches and Zenos doesn’t interest me whatsoever. Sage and Reaper look like okay jobs, i just hope their weapons don’t get ignored like Gnb and Dnc’s did. This is the first time i’m not very hyped for an expansion and if it doesn’t live up then i’ll respectfully unsub.
Not exactly excited, but intrigued. I am generally worried about them signing off the story in 6.0 and changing gears for a new story in 6.1. Usually those kind of directions do not work too well (especially consider how many people do not like the change-up in Stormblood's storytelling) unless they can do the transition correctly and near perfect.
Excited to see the end of the story, try some of the new systems, though I wonder once the end is reached how well the game will then hold attention (with extra emphasis on what the rest of the world is doing, if the competition is floundering then it's all far less concerning).
Certainly there are a lot of new people so a lot of 'new' value, so they're going to be totally fine for quite a while longer, but after so long I feel there is a special challenge to keep the attention of some. I'm sure they're discussing this and planning for it though, they've a window to cover the gorge and obviously ideally building a bridge in advance of the terrain will help cover that space smoothly.
Outside of even all the issues Blizzard is having right now, I think the drop they experience, perhaps not as extreme, is a natural reality of age, to expect that all people can spend thousands of hours of content that has a harder and harder time to appear fresh as for the most part paint is smeared on top of paint of the same body by the nature of how it is designed (the players invested in the system and the players ready for a change / 'innovation' as the key word goes are not in sync)- I think they might have done well for WoW ARR (cata sort of approaches that but some strange choices / issues I think made it a bit less impactful than it could have been, and I mean a bit more extreme than just a terrain redux) or Titan (true WoW 2.0 that was canceled entirely) or whatever it was called would do well at this point. I believe they (SE) said they might be focusing on story contained in one expansion concepts after this which might be wise, another slow burn after EW I'm not sure would be that effective. Also all the investment of story will be paid so mechanics might become a far more priority sight (glamour log, etc, investment can defer issues but once the investment is largely cashed I wonder how well then after they can defer). All to say I don't think the game is dying or struggling (in fact opposite of that currently), but thinking based on age of game / issue of certain systems being deeply interwoven, curious of the hand off from EW to beyond.

I am super hyped and god knows i would sacrifice every single one of my people, special Ryne and Gaia to get Emet Selch, Elidibus and Arbert back. If Zenos would ask me to sacrifice someone ... bye Girls.
I for one am really looking forward to Endwalker! This will be the first expansion launch I am here for since Heavensword. I really love the idea of Reaper, and am very tempted to make it the class I play the story as. Also after almost a decade of it being teased, we are FINALLY going to Sharlayan! It looks gorgeous too.
Will be cool to see how all the threads of this long story come to a close… that said… I am a little concerned about them apparently wrapping up the whole ARR+ story in just the expansion. I have often felt that some of the games best quests and story resolutions come in the post-patch stuff where they are more free to explore character stuff. Fingers crossed they can pull it off without the plot feeling too rushed! If anyone can, its Yoshi.
