Prima Vista CTD

Hi there, im new to the game and have been playing through the story thusfar. I had just finished stormblood and decided to go back and do allot of the blue quests I had thusfar ignored. One such quest took me to the 'prima vista' but upon the completion of the initial cutscene I suffered a CTD. Now everytime I try to log into the game (after waiting in the queue) my game imidiately sufferes the same CTD. My charcter is noted as being present in the 'prima vista tiring room' on the login screen.
I have already tried all of the common fixes for others who have suffered from this issue before most notably including updating my drivers, un and reinstalling the game and moving the game from my external drive where I had it before to my main drive. Needless to say I am still having the same issue.
It may also be worth mentioning my game had previously been suffering from the occasional CTD beforehand, almost always when my character entered a heavily congested area (mostly around the main city aetherytes), as this may be linked to my current issue. I was previously able to mostly ignore this prior issue as is has not been causing too much trouble.

If no such permanent fix is forthcoming I imagine simply moving my character from the prima vista to another area would allow me to carry on as I have been. Is there a way to simply shunt my character to another area/kill them outside of logging into the game proper?

Any help fixing this issue would be appreciated.

Small update, after trying several more minor things (and major things again for a second or third time) without success, switching the game to direct X 9 mode does not immediately crash me to desktop upon trying to login, I instead get stuck in an infinite loading loop and I have to force quit the game. Not sure if that offers any more insight into my problem.
