How to prevent autotarget - pressing Cross/A - from prioritizing allied duty NPCs?

Is there a way to prevent autotarget/autoattack when using Cross/A to select a target from prioritizing green-named allied duty NPCs instead of enemies? This is driving me up the wall and I'm about ready the metaphorically throw this game out the window.

In /characterconfig you can set four sets of target cycling filters for controller.

This is not what those filters are for. Those filters are for choosing which targets the game cycles through when using target cycling, ie. using the left/right d-pad buttons to switch between targets. Those filters don't affect which target is selected which press Cross/A.

This is not what cross/A is for. Use the target filters, the Target Nearest Enemy keybind, or the /targetenemy command.

It's based on a combination of filters and camera. If you literally have nothing selected and just press x. It targets the closest object near the centre of the camera that matches any active target filters. So if you want to target a specific thing it gets quite easy to just point the camera at it and press the select button. Becomes second nature with a bit of practice.

Filters make it even easier.. especially around npcs. Like zafnor or something where the npc is buried in a crowd of a hundred players.. can just activate an npc filter. L1+Square for me. And press x. The targeting will ignore every single one of those players and go straight to the npc
