I'm on PS5. It's better but not by much. The game will still only load so many players/NPCs before it stops trying. So was still a pain to try to talk to the Moonfire Faire questgivers behind the counter because of just how many players were there.Ps4 has that problem, sometimes I luck out with hunts if I reach the mark first so it loads the enemy immediately but if I reach a second late... well aoe spam as a tank sadly.
For npcs as well, at least a minute or so when it is overcrowded. Or 2 minutes max if the players are all gathered on a single npc.
Regardless it will always be a problem in general, dunno how ps5 works with the so many people
other games let u limit how many PC players u can see , i think FFXIV has this option too but not ingame atm cant check
I really hope for instanced tome vendors this time... its so annoying... no i dont need the same shiny mount 12x in row next to each other nor 10 ppl with ultimate weapons standing there literally 24/7 when they dont raid lol
Just make the final hub so vendors are isntanced, with an outside for posing thats only loaded when youre there.
I dunno why but it seems like load priority is(from most to least)
Some random player within 30m> random players outside of 30m> minions within 30m> minions outside of 30m> party members within 30m> party members outside of 30m> low priority mobs like passive mobs within 30m> low priority mobs outside of 30m> medium priority mobs(aka aggressive but not hunt or attacking) within 30m> medium priority mobs outside of 30m>chocobos within 30m> chocobos outside 30m> high priority mobs(hunts or mobs attacking you or players) with 30m> high priority mobs outside of 30m> low priority npcs within 30m> low priority npcs outside of 30m> medium priority npcs(quest npcs not blue or MSQ or traders) with 30m> medium priority npcs outside of 30m> blue quest NPCs within 30m> blue quest NPCs outside of 30m> everything else> MSQ NPCs within 30m> MSQ NPCs outside of 30m.
You got it a little wrong Bserking,
The last thing in that list is “Any quest relevant NPC that my current PC is standing on top of for the last 3 minutes”
I am playing on PS4 like half the player base...I didn't say that. It could be related to the hardware they are playing on. Especially if not on an ssd, which is basically essential at this point in time.
There are tons of players who play the game on laptops and pcs below minimum required specs. Hence the question.
Lol that's bleak.I dunno why but it seems like load priority is(from most to least)
But I also wanted to add it's not specifically the AFK people that bother me but rather other players who are trying to do exactly the same quest as I am. This has also been bad with new MSQs if my friends and I decide to play it together 1-2 days after it goes live, there are so many people around every single quest NPC trying to do exactly the same quest and it doesn't get better because when you move to the next NPC, THEY move to that next NPC too.
Oh wow, no more character creation on Aether for a little while O.O :
"As of the Patch 5.58 Hotfix maintenance, all Worlds on the Aether Data Center have been classified as Congested. Despite expanding the maximum capacity as much as possible and closely monitoring the situation, the number of logins for each World have constantly remained at full capacity, which led to us taking this course of action.
This means players will be unable to create new characters on any World on the Aether Data Center until this classification is lifted. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this will cause for those of you who were looking forward to embarking on adventures with friends.
Were the number of characters to increase any further, it could result in login queues taking up to several hours, which is why we needed to take this approach. In the meantime, we kindly request that you consider creating a character on a World within the Primal or Crystal Data Centers, though we’re aware that they are currently quite congested as well.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this will cause for our players on the North American Data Centers."

Let's be real, if you abused the AFK system, you contributed to the Aether lockdown. I hope you're happy with yourself.
Also your reasoning flies in the face of what we've seen saying for so long, the queues have been nasty on prime time.
I had this issue when trying to do the recent event quest to get my polar bear mount. The FATE itself wasn't a problem thankfully, but the quest NPC's were taking forever to show up.
