ddos attack on EU

Byrnhildr is noticeably having some server strain issues too, things are taking longer to load than usual.

Yeah I am on Odin and I cannot log in. Keep getting lobby errors and kicked out of the game

I don't think this is the work of WoW players. FFXIV likely became a target because it currently gets alot of attention which in return gives the attackers a feeling of satisfaction when they bring the servers on its knees.

It's not the WoW players... Its Blizzard/Activision trying to get their WoW players to come back by trying to make other stuff worse instead of improve their own product >.> Yay conspiracy theories!

On a more serious note this stuff is definitely annoying. It's not the first time this game has been attacked in this manner. Probably will not be the last.

It's sad that normally I'd agree and joke "lol conspiracy theories" ...but it wouldn't surprise me either. Not saying it's WoW, but a company with the attitude and history of scandals like Acti-Blizzard is capable of it. Very unlikely of course.

Other than popularity and internet scumbags, there's also the possibility there was some sort of planned event on the EU DC set for this evening that was targetted. I don't know if that's the case as I don't follow the big streamers, especially those in EU, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was a "reason" such as it is.
