    That's not the reason there are so few healers. No amount of incentive is gonna make people want to heal random trash players who sit in every AoE and tanks who don't use mitigation. Both types whom always blame the healer for dying.

    You can put the blame squarely on the "fantastic community of ff14"

    I thought it was more that healer gameplay in general isn't necessarily exciting for most players, especially in their current state for many.

    What is this an argument against exactly? There are still players who enjoy playing healers, is an achievement reward for healers - just like tanks already have - too much to ask for?

    Man I would love this. I was around for the veteran system so I already had most of the goodies from the achievement certs that I wanted when that whole thing started. I grabbed what was left that I could a long time ago.

    One concern I have is with consumables being in this system, if say they might be able to do something cool like very expensive but cool mount (lets say the cruiser mount that was just released) such a big purchase would work better if they knew the total available achievement points and assume people are not going to lose them on consumables . . (Same applies to basically anything that is lose-able). You could be a person who spent so much on consumable items that then this neat thing gets added and you feel ...very out of luck... lol.

    Of course... if you've the choice of nothing to buy anymore vs buying dyes and such, of course people would probably prefer the former.

    When we had the old veteran system I had suggested that it would cause some major annoyances as time goes on, with someone joining the game and being told something like "oh yeah you can get the Tifa outfit, it'll just take you 8 years" lol. The suggestion was to just create cash shop credits that you could use instead, in this way SE could just keep making cash shop designs instead of having to split out into "vet reward" and yet all cash shop items would be, given time, considerable to be a "vet reward". Of course if you allow players to supplement tokens to purchase an item it would, probably, increase some peoples purchasing habits which is good for SE (though some may argue it's encouraging addictive behavior... personally I think this is non-gambling addictive behavior and so I don't really think it counts for concern, because the game itself could be likewise considered such an issue).

    Whatever the case they're obviously not using the tokens for much right now lol.

    I mean they let you purchase crysta so it's a trade off between investing time or investing money and no company is gonna give up money once they've established it. It would be nice though, to somehow merge the two maybe and let us use of veteran tokens/achievement tokens toward discounts in the cash shop

    Yeah, though my unnecessary headcannon says it should be kupo nuts (or since the companion app, kupo cream). Then we can have mognet become a physical place in the game, with more mog mail quests ;3. There will be an area where mog sell stuff from the mysterious M (M, iirc is the person Yoshida once referred to as a powerful woman at SE that controls the mog shop). However if you find something you like you can bribe the moogles to look away while they plush their fur .

    Since, imo, you can achieve this token via subscription, albeit a lot slower, and then using this mognet system you can give the whole shop a sense of ... not as much "that evil thing that exists outside of the game". I know some will use their crowns or whatever EQ calls them to buy stuff at a cheaper cost frequently (like someone might say $8 emote is too much but with five oz of kup cream it's only $3 and that's not too shabby), personally it would just make me be less skeptical of everything that goes into it lol. I don't mind things that don't really belong into the game but I do find it a bit annoying for things that they clearly pulled mostly complete assets from the game, that seems a bit cheesy (although obviously makes them money and is easier to do I bet, and I understand that the assets are not complete but they are going to be more complete than something that has had no work lol (has to fit to bodies, etc)).

    Unfortunately it just seems like another system SE has dropped and ignored in favor of new ones. Similar to chocobo racing and verminion. Really wish they would expand on it as there’s literally nothing worth getting when you already have everything, at this point achievement points just feel like a horrible novelty than anything else. I see some good ideas in this thread but unfortunately unless you scream about it on the likes of twitter or reddit it most likely won’t be heard here as they’ve abandoned these forums.
