Does the Mogstation have a manual component?

I'm just curious why the Mogstation wavers between service that is close to instantaneous (arrival in a minute or less), and delivery windows of 12 hours or more. Is it possible that there is some kind of bizarre manual element where someone has to press a button to make these transactions transfer from website to game?

FFXIV is the only MMO I can think of with this sort of lag; WoW is, of course, instant, but even a smaller game like Black Desert - where payments must first hurdle through Steam - has immediate item delivery. So... what causes the slowness here? And why does it suffer from backups during periods of high demand?

To my knowledge it's automated but when its account wide it takes longer. Single character items doesn't take long.

I would assume that as well that whole system is under stress.

You can try press the "request reward" button in-game at the mail moogle, that sometimes helps and logging out and in.

This is what happens any time a very popular thing hits the store. Or has to be delivered. Look at the butterfingers mount. It'll most likely happen again at launch.

Butterfinger offer required some 3rd-party to look at the receipt to either accept or reject. Promotional companies do this all the time for rebates and the like, and that's why they hired to do that part.

Mogstation has traffic like anything else in the game, people are buying things so often. Credit card payments need to post, delivering mail to characters is a server hit, plus account wides, and especially when it's new and hot.
