What is the deal with classes (not jobs) in dungeons over 30 lately?

Over the weekend, I went into Sunken Temple of Qarn to do a Maelstrom hunting log for rank up and there was a Thaumaturge (not a Black Mage) in our party. That dungeon requires level 35 so everybody who does that dungeon SHOULD have their job already. The Thaumaturge did not.

I did the same dungeon today on my Monk character and there was a conjurer (not a White Mage) in our party. We kept wiping in the dungeon. I have a White Mage at 40 on another character so I know that the conjurer was missing a very important spell. Cure 2.

Before I did Qarn today, my Monk did Haukke Manor and there was an Arcanist in our party. Now I understand that Haukke Manor is technically level 28 dungeon but it does have a level 30 sync and the Arcanist WAS level 30. That Arcanist should have been either a Summoner or Scholar if he was level 30. That Arcanist could have been above 30, I do not know, 30 is the highest that you can be in Haukke Manor synced.


I have played the game with so many characters and I have never seen classes in dungeons over 30 before and now it seems to be a regular thing.

Why are people skipping their level 30 job quests lately?

2 reasons:
- The game now throws too much EXP at low level
- The game does a poor job at letting you know about the importance of the job quests

I made an alt on a preferred server and I was able to get to lvl 45 before I was able to unlock the lvl 30 quest since it is locked behind the msq. There is just such an abundance of exp early on that it's nearly impossible not to have to wait on your job stone. And idr even getting a pop up msg after I was able to do the quest that stated lvl 30 job quests are now available which is no help, esp for new players who don't know any better.

At this point they need to get rid of the msq requirement for job stones, it made no sense to have the 2 linked to begin with.

Why are people skipping their level 30 job quests lately?

There have always been some people who do not pick up their jobs as soon as they could - and people who complain about them. Some simply don't know about jobs, some don't realise why they matter. The game doesn't really tell you about jobs after all.
Why are there more such people now? Probably because there are a whole lot of new people in the game right now.

Road to 70 is absolutely overkill. People level like 8 times per instance and back when it was ramped, it was common to see Lv50 que for Titan NM. Much less classes only que for stuff as they steamroll the OW and current crop of MSQ.

Funny how generous leveling is while other methods such as fates, leves, beast tribes and hunts are still severely small compared, rather see those get buffed

Well ist not always skipping, for me the problem has been that i had a side quest quotet as a normal quest. But the quest was important for the job quest, without i was not able to start the level 30 job quest. I found it when i had been already level 38.
Thats a newbe thing and there are plenty of newbies around.

You could have a few lvl 80s with that much time put in, honestly.
