PS5 performance issues

I just got my ps5 and I was very excited to play the ps5 version of FFXIV. Sadly, the games frame rate just drops so much in so many different areas. )-: and that’s not even when in 4k mode. I will continue to play on the PS4 version because the frame rate and performance is best on that version of the game. I really hope that square eventually takes a look at the porting issue of the ps5 application. I know the priority right now is making it so people can buy the game again and play, which I totally understand and support! I’m just hoping it will be acknowledged eventually.

I literally am in the same boat as you. I just got a PS5 today. I had been playing on a low-power GPU equipped PC so I was looking forward to having the visual effects and resolution back and switch over to PlayStation....NOPE...it runs so bad that it makes my $100 graphics card look good by comparison..and mind you that's how much I paid for the card post-pandemic. I'll keep playing on PC, I guess. Or maybe the PS4 version

You can download and play the PS4 version on the PS5 with backwards compatibility; that is the best PlayStation experience at the moment. You will get 60 fps at nearly all times in the PS4 version and avoid the constant stuttering of the PS5 version. The only real drawback is that the high-res item and skill icons were not implemented in the PS4 version.

Did they ever address the issues ? I haven't played on PS5 for a very long time, i literally bought a cheap computer to be able to able this game more freely.
I hope they improved it a bit.

No fix and no updates to the PS5 version since the beta test version was released.
