Why do Seasonal Events get stripped down each year and not added too?

I'd guess you're new? This has unfortnately happened for years and will not change.
It's a double edge sword. Either you keep the stuff exclusive and not accessable for new players or put it in the cash shop 1+ year later the event and people never has to feel FOMO.

Google Translate is a option i guess if you really want to vent your frustrations.

Wows events have the old rewards available in addition to any new ones they may have added. It's part of why I don't do their events anymore. Didn't get that toy four years ago? It's still in game just get it next time the event is around.

FFXIV used to give out the old rewards as well before the cash shop was added to the game in late 2014. I got the old 1.0 swimsuits and santa clothes for free and you could get the items from the 2013 summer event in the 2014 event again. But now you have to pay for them with real money.

Well, the choices for rewards would really be between a new swimsuit or the Polar Bear mount... I rather take the mount.

The pandemic impact aside, FFXIV has always cycled which events get more effort put into them. Last I saw there was a spreadsheet someone made on reddit tracking all the event rewards, and through every year (except during the pandemic), in total, we get a similar amount of mounts, glamour, emotes, and furnishings.

People just look at individual events and decide that "Oh! This event didn't have as many rewards as last year! They're cutting content!"

Seasonal events have been getting worse for awhile, especially if you're a viera/hrothgar. Those events that only give a hat we can't even wear were pretty cool lol.

It's just like everything else in this game, we keep getting less and less content as time goes on. Soon we won't even get dungeons anymore.

People really needs to stop using the pandemic to excuse everything. It is not. Specially for issues and cuts that have been rather historical.

Like it's kinda hard working on a annual theme and make reward interessing, people will complain with having swimsuit (but redesigned) each year or hawai styled outfit

Or simply there is no resources - money/time/energy for that.

The fact is: Year after year we recive less content.
And new or catching up players instead of being able to "catch up" the previous seasonal rewards when the seasonal event is up: those things get put behind a cash shop - which some people will say helps the SE develop more content... Something clearly isn't adding up.

I was actually so disappointed when they didn't put the jumping puzzle back. I mean I know covid and whatever but come on you couldn't even copy/paste the puzzle back in?? Seasonal events are in general super meh and disappointing for the past while even without covid messing with things.

Worst Moon fire event I've ever seen and people are defending it... and are promoting mediocre content - to add salt to the wounds they added new items for the moon fire event to the store aswel as costumes that came with the event in the past. An utter embaressment of an event and hopefully not a sign of things to come.

There are four new items added to the store: three are from last year's Moonfire event and the fourth is the Cruise Chaser mount.

The Cruise Chaser is definitely not a Moonfire-themed mount.
