Managed to clear Castrum on 5 people, but not on 8.

First, let me say that I hate bozja with the sort of burning passion normally reserved for only the most heinous of crimes. If the place could be razed to the ground I would open a champaign bottle on the crater.

Second, I've previously managed to clear this cursed place on 5 people, just allocating 2 Tanks on bottom and 2DPS on top with a Healer, we did perfectly fine, managed to protect the Tunnel Armor marginally well but the boss died before it became an issue.

And I have failed on 3 people before while trying to solo bot and leaving the other 2 top, we failed because there wasn't enough bodies to soak the Tunnel Armor. So I've come to the conclusion that 5 people would be sort of like the bottom cap and it just becomes insultingly impossible under that.

But now I've FAILED with 8 people, because we organized 3 down bot, 2 Tanks and a Healer, while everyone else went top. We failed to kill the Helldiver before the Tunnel Armor got destroyed. Then we were doing fine going an even 4-4 split and we ran out of time.


What's my point? I've got no point. I mean, maybe "I hate Bozja" is a point? Sure, let's go with that. I hate this cursed place and I would happily drop another meteor on it. Twice.

And... Right after I typed that, I think the server caught on fire? We got a LOT of people disconnecting from Castrum, me included.

No, the birb can be left alone just fine and Lyons can be wiped out almost before Taste of Blood with strong enough Echo.

The problem won't be Lyons or the Prisoners, it's the first pair of bosses.

And finally I get yet ANOTHER Castrum with only 2 people, we got in as 2 DPS and we couldn't kill the bosses before the Tunnel Armor just died out. That's my 3rd Castrum lost in a row, for 3 completely different reasons.

Did I mention I absolutely want to burn this place and everyone in it to the ground yet? At first I loved this, and the feeling of being in a Warzone and all, at first I was all roses having banter with Lyons and having fun with our Gerolt... But now?... Now I just want to die.

If you drastically low man the boss, then he'll take everyone except one person who has to stay bottom and tank Dawon plus all of the adds until top finishes. Anyone with Beast/Bloodsucker can do it trivially at such low numbers though

Wait, are you using Castrum as a way to get weekly tomes or something? There are stuff like hunts, daily roulettes, level 80 dungeons, Critical Engagements. People barely run Castrum unless they need a clear for their weekly quest, more experience/mettle, and/or Deep Essences.

And there are several other ways to get your relic steps aside from Castrum L.L. in Bozja and outside of Bozja.

Sound like you are either going for the Castrum achievement or you are farming for Deep Essences for Duels/future Bozja runs. You are seeming burning yourself out to the seventh hell for trivial reasons.

I have every single other note in the Field Guide. Even managed Lyons 44 and 45 from Dal runs in under 30 runs. But Lyons on Bozja? I CANNOT get through Choctober without getting a Vuln stack on me. Which means that my only recourse left is clearing CLL... Time and again... Without end... Until I FINALLY can get my hands on that Hoverbike. Because if I don't do that now, I'll need something like a Bozja Discord or some other sort of nuisance just to get it.

You do realize you can just use Lost Reflect to avoid almost all damage on that, and even negate almost all the Vulns as well? You will have to avoid the chocobo dashes, but you should be able to cheese the CE fairly easy. Unless they patched that to be like the Zadnor CEs, where you still get the vuln stack even if you take no damage.
