Icy Veins to cover FFXIV

For those interested, Icy Veins, a site dedicated to covering WoW and mostly Blizzard games, is now hiring writers for their new section dedicated to FFXIV.

Icy Veins is mostly for raiders and min/maxers but it's a good place to go for class builds, gearing and rotations. I know a lot of folks here have been wishing for a similar FFXIV site for years, and now they may finally have one with this.

It's worth mentioning, however, that most players interested in builds and rotations go to The Balance Discord server, but having a website dedicated to these things will likely be more accessible and convenient. And a huge help.

This is very good news for the community, if we can get people to share and for people who care and want to improve, but want a resource at tips of fingers. I mean I still got people asking what best skill speed to have, when I can't really answer that because I don't know the person ping, and trying to explain double weaving. So cool beans.

interesting but I think your forgetting that racial stats are still a thing in XIV but in a minor degree. so these build (if they'll be true min/max builds) will most likely also include BiS race for jobs as well. so it'll be interesting to see the response they get from their first class build article.

1. Why do I need to let you know there is a problem that needs fixing? That is what you have your people for! Stop exploiting new prospects to fix your problems and tossing them away with an apology letter.

2. Why do I need to let you know my ideas about how to fix developmental problems? Again, you have people for this. Very misleading and obtuse.

3. Am I the right person? Probably, but I won't lend you my talents, resources, and ideas for free if there isn't a fair and equal process for screening and recruitment.

If this site is serious about recruiting people, they should be more specific about how to hire people, what they're looking for, and how they can contribute to the company without exploiting applicants.

Oh heck yeah, this is fantastic!

I’m a big fan of Icy Veins and was bummed when I started this game to find there wasn’t an equivalent page for FFXIV.

I know I’m too new to the game to be much help, but I’m totally going to support them in fleshing out content for this game. ^_^

The stat spread is 5 at max. For eternity. That's less than the margin between hits at max level.

They're saying that if you want to apply to a position that is not currently open, the onus is on you to convince them to hire you. Why should they hire you for a closed position if there is no problem to be fixed, no new idea to be developed, and you aren't the right person for the job?

Or it could be a tactic to weed out folks who have that exact reaction. They want folks who will see problems that others may overlook. They want people who will then have a solution to those problems. They want people who will play ball with a minimum of rabble. If that's not you, the simple solution is to move on to the next job listing. What's not needed is an attack on the corporation because you disagree with their wording or perceived morals.

If there is no problem with their services, literally, make something up but at least try to sound convincing and provide a plan of action by which you would solve the "problem".

"I think your sites could do with more fact-checking, proof-reading and comment moderation because such and such and blah blah blah. With my new Super Icy Veins Plan 9.0, I will eliminate all of these issues by such and such and blah blah blah.

Maybe they want go-getters and not complainers.

Never played WoW so not sure what this site is, something like the Balance and Saltedxiv.com with job guides and end game encounter guides?
