    Game crashes with a black screen

    Hello everyone,

    i can play the game for less than 5 minutes then my system crashes with blackscreen and i have to reboot.
    Sometime i can still hear the game sound or can still talk to people in teamspeak but i don't see any regularities here.

    The Problem is only in FFXIV.

    Things I've tried
    - Update graphics card driver, BIOS, AMD chipset drivers, Windows
    - Run with Minimal Setup (all unnecessary programs closed)
    - Tried with and without Direct X11
    - Graphic settings tried out ingame (full screen, windowless, everything to max or min settings
    - Turned of HDR
    - win +ctr + shift + b (doesn`t work)
    - new installation of the game and graphics card drivers

    Since I'm slowly running out of ideas, I hope that you can help me further.

    You can try using ctrl+shift+windows key+B to refresh your GPU drivers. There's also an from windows (KB5004296, released July 29th as an optional update) that helps address some video game related issues.

    Are you running overlays? Are you using multiple monitors with varied resolution and refresh rate?

    ctrl + shift + windows key + B has no influence (the system does not react)
    When I tried to play the game with the minimal setup, I had no overlays(all unnecessary programs closed).
    Sometimes got the overlay from Discord.

    As far as I can see, the update is not installed on my System. When I tried to install it manually, the error message "The update is not suitable for your computer" came up.

    I have three screens 2x 1920x1080 each 60Hz 1x 5120x1440 120Hz

    I switched off the two screens and tried to play only with the 5120x1440 monitor but the same result. In under 5 mins i got the BlackScreen.

    Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

    Please try the following:

    - Try switching to DirectX 9 by selecting the ‘Config’ button on the launcher.
    - Perform a clean boot by opening the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything.
    - Please be sure that Final Fantasy XIV is installed to the C: Drive.

    If these troubleshooting tips do not resolve the issue, please provide the following below:

    What Platform? (Steam/Windows/Mac etc.)
    Are there other programs/overlays currently being used when running FFXIV?
    Does this only happen to one character or all characters?
    What happens when you leave the character idle?
    Does the game run better full screen, borderless windowed, or windowed mode?
