Question about upgrading to Endwalker (I'm a physical Disc User)

I play via PS4, but I heard that Endwalker won't have discs this time, so left with having to buy digital.

Which I did before when pre-ordering Shadowbringers back then, and ran into no issues (like it creating another service account by accident).

I won't run into this issue with Endwalker correct? It was saying it needed the starter edition, but when I tried that before when I bought the Digital Starter Edition it created another service account, and completely wouldn't let me get to my character.

Just need re-assurance I'm not making a mistake before I go dump 59.99 on Enderwalker Digital Collection >_>.

The lack of information regarding Disc Users is really frustrating.

EDIT (I FOUND THE ANSWER)

You'll continue to need a FFXIV disc even if you bought the expansion digitally. The only real way to change this is to remove and reinstall the game from the Purchased Library

Omg that is so painful to do because the download speeds is abysmal, couldn't Yoshi P. be a bit more merciful via some kind of service?

if you play on ps4, why not buy the digital copy off the playstation store? its the same thing (though sometimes they offer playstation exclusive themes).

As a PSA, if you migrate to the PS5 version you only need to download the XIV upgrade client in the Store and link your account to it, it'll migrate you to the PS5 digital version automatically. You MIGHT need to use your original disc in the installation but you won't need it afterwards.

Be sure to upload your system settings before migrating, or you'll be left with empty hotbars and armory sets

Just to add for those people desperately trying to get a PS5 right now (which isn't happening for a lot of people this year), you won't be missing much graphically speaking. I know its been frustrating trying to buy one because of the chip shortage and lame scalpers, but for now everyone hang on for this year because there will be a better supply of PS5s next year and (hopefully) it will be the re-modeled version they were talking about which hopefully iron out some nasty bugs the launch version had.
