    Loading Screen Bug at Azim Steppe

    Hi I'm new to the game here and was really looking forward to moving on to the stormblood expansion. I was leading up to quest that would take me to Azim steppe but as soon as I was in the loading screen, I just crashed. Now every time I log in, I'm stuck in the loading screen to Azim steppe and can no longer play the game because of it.

    I need help on any options as I have tried reaching out to support (they couldn't do anything) and I even checked and tried out what other people have done in forums only to have it fail. Does anyone else have any solutions? I really want to continue playing this game.

    Ask a active GM on here, and see if they can't retrieve your character somehow.

    The game files might be corrupt for Azim Steppe on your computer. The only way to fix something like that is to delete and re-install FFXIV from scratch.

    Other suggestion: Try to log in to your character from another PC/PS4/PS5. This requires a bit of understanding though. If you play on one of these there are restrictions. So how it would work is, if you have a friend that plays FFXIV and you both have the PC version (Not steam) then you could log in your character on their PC and see if it lets you in. If it does, teleport to a town and then try logging in to your PC. (If it works, chances are I am right about the corruption and you'd need to delete and re-install the game). If it doesn't work, then you need to contact support and have them move your character since there is something wrong server side.

    Most times however, it will be your copy. But logging in to another PC requires the same type to be installed as I stated (Non-steam => non-steam or steam => steam). Not sure how PS4/5 would work, but should be similar, and yes playstation version can corrupt to, needing a re-install.

    Thank you so much! Yes I noticed that is exactly what happened. I used my brothers PC and it was working fine on his. Perhaps I didn't re-install it right the first time and didn't completely remove the game from my computer because I still had the issue. But I will go ahead and delete everything and reinstall again. Your info has been super helpful thank you so much and I'll let you know if it works. Much appreciated!!! <3

    Thank you for your reply! Yes I managed to use my brother's PC to retrieve my character. Appreciate the suggestion!

    It's more likely to be that the HUD or setting files are corrupt. You can go to Documents/My Games and drag the CHR folders onto the desktop, then load up the game again. It will reset all of your settings but a copy of them will remain on your desktop so that you can drag it back if it doesn't fix it.
