Upcoming wipe/drama fest 8/13/2021

So A LOT of you may not know but Limit Max is the leader of the #2 guild in WoW formerly #1 up to like a month ago. About a year ago he created a character and boosted to 70 then rushed to 80 to try out raiding. He took a pause to focus on WoW stuff but he is back. Now that WoW is in the mother of all content lulz with no prospect for content soon Max has decided to organize some WoW players who raid/do mythics to try and blind tackle Final Fantasy 14's hardest content very seriously.

So lets list off the upcoming drama fest from an event that is going to get a lot of a attention on Twitch:
1. All of them will be using ACT (drama fest alone)
2. All of them have boosted and Naguura even made a Youtube video saying she boosted just to do this event and wants to do the story. (SUPER DRAMA FEST)
3. Almost all of them are using UI altering mods
4. They are doing COMPLETELY blind prog on lvl 50/60/70/80 savage/hard/Extreme content and Ultimates with zero guides......
5. Most of them have had maybe a week to learn their classes.

Wondering what the communities thoughts on this are right now? Limit Max seems to think the community cares about them boosting given the Source Twitlonger. I see the difference between World first raiders boosting and Quin69 or LazyPeon (Might just be me).

How do you guys think this is going to go?

Getting the attention of people like Asmongold showed casuals in WoW that FF14 has a far more casual friendly scene with content support with similar things plus content like the gold saucer. Having the attention of raiders even if they are here for fun attracts the attention of these guys https://www.icy-veins.com/jobs-ffxiv <---- If you played WoW then you are well aware this will lead to the retirement of multiple discords if it becomes the goto resource.

I am also not "attacking" them or starting drama but showing how this will open the door to non casual raiders giving FF14 a second chance as it is currently perceived as a faceroll casual MMO with no real hard raid content.

Edit 8/15/2021: First day Twitch chat was what you might have expected as seen above. Streams were EXTREMELY enjoyable to watch WoW players with zero FF14 raiding experience approach this content. By the second day anyone who did the above was probably timed or banned from the Twitch chats lol

I think what a lot of FF14 centric MMO players do not know about WoW is there is a very bad relationship between the "casual" and "elite" players that is very toxic at times. When you bring that playerbase over here and they start doing identical things like min/maxing or boosting to rush raid content those same people on the casual side who came here freak out hard.

Max found one guy on Twitter who was losing his crap over them boosting and turns out the guy is still on the free trial and mainly did WoW content but because he plays FF14 that is now the "FF14 community" criticizing boosting. The good news is the developers have rarely catered the game around hardcore players by releasing items or content overtuned just for them to then immediately nerf it into the dirt 4 weeks later.

Seriously, the people feared exactly that thing when Asmongold started to play FF14. But nothing happened.

As long as they're not sucking some poor randoms along for the ride and abusing them.. I see no issue.

Them blatantly using 3rd party programs and mods and broadcasting it might backfire on them though.. I hope they know that.

yeah I have no idea what this person is complaining about?

I see "A bunch of WoW raiders are coming to 14 and wanna try progging our savages and ultimates blind together on stream" and I think "Oh that might be fun to watch", I don't think about drama or anything like that. And wipes don't cause drama. wipes are part of the game especially in high end content.

Some people will be toxic about it.
Whatever they do somebody will be there to complain and criticize. It doesn't matter.
Quin and Peon were different stories in my opinion. The issue is not that they criticized the game or skipped the story, it is just that the way they phrased their criticism and jumped to conclusion was just...bad...

It doesn't matter if they are world first raiders or random content creator.
Those limit raiders seem to actually give the game a fair shot based on what they want to take out of the experience. And this is all that matters.

No issue with them boosting/using ACT for what they intend to do.

Probably going to be a struggle for some of them. What we saw of Naguura so far is some atrocious gameplay mainly.

More of an issue with Max wanting to use Cactbot (he even asked on MogTalk if it was possible to pay someone to do custom triggers). Kinda defeats the point of going in blind.

Kinda show how those WoW players have grown way too dependant on addons, weakauras and DBM.

Why do people care so much what former wow players are doing?


Why does it feel like so many people are invested in what other people do? Just play the game and do what you enjoy.
