I'll have a go at anyone spreading the "This game is not for you" gatekeeping bs just because some people want to actually play the game rather than read hours of MSQ exposition and afk in Limsa."You're not allowed to want this game to be better" = "I don't understand that 'better' is a relative metric, and that many players are adamantly opposed to the change I want."
Please quit blowing responses out of proportion. Everyone wants the game to be better. Not everyone agrees that adding even more difficult content is better.
And sometimes people like you have to realize that a system isn't going to change no matter how much you criticize it. The 45 day system functions, oh I get that you and others who want to keep their house while they take a 5 month break don't like it, but guess what, when you're not playing and you lose that house because you aren't playing.. all of a sudden someone else who is playing can make use of that housing slot. And I do believe that is the intent behind it and why it will not be changing.Someone that has to deal with the system because people like you try to silence others who offer criticism about it. Please, if you’re not going to contribute anything and are just going to piggyback off someone else’s post just don’t say anything at all. It’ll make yourself look better in the long run.
As for the usual trite about 'if you can't agree with me shut up and get out'. No.
The housing system is, in many ways, flawed. Other MMO's with a housing system do not have the same issues - and as such, players can take breaks without feeling the pressure to log in and keep a subscription going if they wish to take a break during downtime.
If somebody wishes to keep their house, they cannot take more than a single month away from the game at a time. Which is what the original context of the discussion is about.
It's a rather predatory business practice since I do not doubt that the development team are well aware that most people who own a house are not going to risk losing one if they take a break - and as such, continue to subscribe to the game even when they may very well want to take some time away to 'play other games' as is often suggested by members of this community.
Given how the housing system works, if someone takes an extended break then they lose their house - and of those who do lose a house, how many are going to be able to acquire one again? Especially one of the bigger and rarer houses?
Not many.
Oh mr Tough Guy, have a go at me, I'm shaking.
Most of the people playing this game don't want dev time wasted on crap no one plays, and that is hard raid content.
It's not going to change no matter how much you screech, so my advice stands. Play something else.
Do you think thats a lot?I'll have what you're smoking because I've got no clue what the heck you're talking about. TEA is 1 week prog only for the most hardcore raid groups that go for several hours every day and have been world progging together for a while now. For everyone else it's a months-long affair.
And we have 4 savage fights per tier, 5 if you include wall-gated bosses like oracle of darkness.
Stop baiting... so sick of you people.
thats not a lot, you might want to research what other mmos add.
It is 4 savage raid bosses every 6 month, and 2 ex trials in that time, thats not a lot of content to sink your teeth into.
What’s funny though is Yoshi P had already said before they wouldn’t implement a system like this. And I do believe that is the intent behind it and why it will not be changing.

In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Yet here we are. Did our lord and savior yoshi p lie to us?! It’s not about you disagreeing, it’s about you quite literally piggybacking off of someone elses statement instead of speaking with your own words. Feels like a cult mentality which 14…feels like a lot.

You claim I'm "projecting" but what's the most liked comment in this thread, hmm?
Oh btw, I raided in WoW until Legion and cleared all raids from Vanilla > end of Legion on hard/mythic. I'm just not dumb enough to think that's what FF14 is about, because it isn't, never has been.

Don't know, don't care.
But it's absurd to claim that the majority even if they don't partake in it view difficult content as wasted dev resources, especially given their longevity compared to more "popular" stuff, because it still has a decent amount of participation, much higher than you'd expect, and it's not going away anytime soon.
Also, this isn't about WoW, idc what you did in WoW.

Honestly I would prefer that there was more challenging pve content in FFXIV. Its a reason why i love playing games. The achievement, The difficulty The challenge. And even though I may not have gotten to it all, I know it is there when I have the time for it
I have nothing against those that love a more casual approach with less time on your hands however, shb did feature less content overall in comparison to its predecessors. We use covid as an excuse, however there was mass reworks going on (looking at you revamped crafter/gather classes) So I'm not going to get to down on the devs for a crappy year
With the influx of new people I hope we get better pvp content and more challenging dungeon content, that isnt just pull everything in a straight line aoe down to the next boss. Everything feels so "samey". Its not a bad thing to voice those concerns. 14 needs this feedback to improve the game. I even wish for a savage 24 man alliance raid honestly, like they did with DR. How cool with that be!
Gets a little tiring with people calling for others to play something different if this game don't have what your looking for when they want the game they have time for to improve. Its not a bad thing
People need to chill and allow for constructive criticism , which people take as a personal attack for some odd reason. Not everything the devs do is written in gold.
