Seeds?

So am learning gardening for the FC… trying to acquire seeds for cross breeding. Going by the data on ffxivgardening.com. One that I am after mentions a slot # and a time along with coordinates. Show up at the location, at the time, boom I get multiple seeds from it. One harvest… great. Another one just has a location (which is more specific than the Gathering Log lists). Turns out there are 2 rare/hidden seeds in the same area. Kinda stake out an area where several nodes can spawn. Now being rare, ain’t gonna spawn like clockwork. Now one question… not sure if I should or should not clean out the node to kind of force a re-spawn. It was suggested to me that maybe just opening the harvest window will create a re-spawn. Thing is, the node stays sparkly. Does it’s contents re-spawn or not? And why does this yield a single seed whereas the other spawns multiples?

Also, not so much for the gathering, but are there macros to save some keystrokes while tending/fertilizing plants in their grow stages?

You don't need to clear them out going to forward to another 2 nodes will reset the previous nodes.. the way I do it is to use the ABC or 123 way points between the 3 locations and cycle them in a circle so that I know they get the respawn.. just check each mode gather what you need an move to the next and they'll refresh.

I believe normal nodes when something is hidden like seeds only yield a single gather and the timed nodes will yield multiple due to the methods of respawning.. I could be wrong tho.

No macros that I know of.. you could always use thr confirm button on keyboard if your playing on PC otherwise no it's just target and go.

Good luck.. gardening is very time consuming and frustrating.. world of advice if an update or downtime is scheduled make sure you store the garden without gathering.. it will pause the rotting timer

Something many gardeners do is have one MIN up to lv 50 and one BOT leveled to max. A lv 50 miner can get you 1 grade 3 soil each hour and botanists can get any seed you've already collected once per hour. Sending them out regularly can help build up your seed and soil stocks in a less frustrating manner than praying to RNG for the rare/hidden item spawns.

As Baxcel said, you only need to interact with nodes, not harvest from them. ARR nodes are usually in sets of 4, HW nodes and beyond are usually 6 nodes grouped into 3 pairs of 2; for both its easiest to just go in a circle around the nodes.

Gathering macros would only work for using the skills you have, not for selecting what to gather so you could do one for using buffs. However you generally aren't using more than 2 buffs at a time so a macro isn't going to help much there.

Cool, was looking for confirmation on re-spawn… “confirm button?” One big difference with the other guy is default choices aren’t highlighted. Oh, I get the timed node thing, but a slot #? Is that the sorted position when you open the harvest window?

I take it you’re talking about retainers, right?
