So, it always apply to personal experiences obviously, and I understand that many people had a very positive one in this game, but for me it went a little different, especially if compared to other games that now serve as scapegoats to look down to.
I used to play 5 years in WoW, and I've seen some shit ofc, but never on this level. The people in this game really think they are a paragon of positivity and inclusiveness, except when they are not.
So, I got a strike in game for telling a guy to shut up and play instead of typing, for he was slowing the party by dying and not caring too much for the experience, a couple dudes warned me I was gonna get reported for it. Things that happen, nothing worth noting.
However this strike made me think that afterall communities that are less restrictive, are actually providing more freedom of expression, not to mention the eventual injustices that result in the eventuality that someone is being victim of worse verbal assaults and yet nobody moves a finger. Anyways once I saw said strike I was naturally upset and went to my FC to rant about it like it's natural to do if you're a human being and not a family friendly bot.
All the conversations I'm referring to were screenshotted if you need any proof;
I was met with not so welcoming response, as it was to be expected, and turns out I was the bad guy all along and everybody turned on me like I insulted their mothers, so I left the place. I wasn't expecting people to tell me I was the victim, but at least not turn my person like that, especially if you don't know how things went (so maybe you could rethink the whole bad guy thing) would have been more akin to this self proclaimed utopistic inclusiveness of the community. One such example I brought up was when I was helping a party of other 3 people who didn't read the strategy for the boss and did not care to read the guide on the link I provided, so I proceeded to tell them how it works, in a normal friendly manner. I was met with "stfu retard", but yeah it's my fault and not the others.
So far so "good". What really made things go downhill was the tell that followed by Nathanes Stamp.
I was told, quoting "I mean you did piss off the biggest FC on the cluster, so yeah, you might have troubles finding a spot now". I would like to add that this pissing off was pretty much me ranting about a personal experience, I did not attack nobody, as my screenshots will prove (if requested in private).
Very mafia like thing to say, all this for what For a community of excessive restrictions that mislead people into thinking they are making the right choices, condemning people for small acts and completely gliss the bigger less obvious abuses that an entire group may express without even realising it. Afterall it's easier to send a guy to the cross for having told you to shut up a moment, but how many abusers realize they are doing something much worse if they are being told what they do is in the right
