Good enough is good enough/I forgive you

Dear FFXIV community,

Good enough is good enough.

Obvious, right? You’d think so, but one thing I’ve sensed just below the surface of the smiles in this objectively wonderful community is a condition of “so long as you do the best you can on my time.”

I’m here to tell you two things on behalf of myself.

First, once again, that good enough is good enough for most of this game’s content. Unless you are on bleeding edge upper difficulties (which are extremely optional), most of the mechanics you’re going to see apply equally to everyone regardless of what job you are, and between “dance phases,” just do a good enough throughput of the rotation as you understand it. All classes are viable, don’t sweat it. So long as you know your limit and play within it, you belong!

Secondly, I forgive you. There’s a big vibe in this game at times to “pursue excellence at all times.” You don’t have to do that and I forgive you for understandably not doing so!
-I forgive your keyboard turning
-I forgive your clicking instead of keybinding
-I forgive you not even having that super niche skill that will never make or break any regular fight anywhere on your screen
-I forgive your combo macros, your fall through macros, and your not even bothering with one of the extremities of your rotation that maybe might come up a couple times in a really long fight. (Ninja, I forgive you not using most of your ninjutsu.)

A lot of people won’t co-sign this sentiment, but I’m saying it anyway! This game clearly doesn’t micro-tune most of the game on a job to job performance basis. It has a damage tank and a threat tank, all are viable for most content, they must be with a job disparity like that!

…And if you were leaning on that idea to enjoy your favorite job, that is 1000% ok! Good enough is indeed good enough!

Sincerely, myself and every NPC party member, trust or squadron, that you can spend much if not most of the leveling and even gearing game with! Enjoy!

I have plenty of reason to say thanks to community for the patience of playing with me, for the friends i made inside this game, for good farming experience and for yoshi p, for kindly listen and understand how important this game is and never let us down.

Lots of people making mistakes right now since there's a lot of new players.

I personally am fine with it. I enjoyed it even! it's always nice to see people trying, asking questions etc etc, and if I am in the capacity to help them I always try to do so.

Any game should take into account some reasonable measure of mistakes and sub-optimal play, otherwise none of us would even be here. After all, video games are for humans not robots! Final Fantasy has never been about ultra hardcore difficulty anyway, outside of the odd endgame optional bosses, and FFXIV has followed suit.

And I will try to forgive those tanks who seem to make it their personal mission to immediately move all the mobs out of Doton.

I will only forgive if they use Trick Attack on cd, otherwise it screws up your rotation too if you're playing NIN especially if they do the first one.

( But seriously tho this has been driving me insane as of late, they start then the window comes up and .... Nothing, and my cds are ready to go. Please... )

Edit: To be clear I am talking about lvl 80's in endgame content, I have higher expectations for the bare-minimum there.
