A returning players thoughts on the community

People really need to stop making generalizations from just one or two encounters with few people like holy shit, the community itself is like millions strong and it's only an encounter among many more hundreds if not thousands if not million encounters with other people in this game.

Stop generalizing, stop overthinking, and you'd stay in a much happier place I assure you!

why thank you, so far besides a few toxic people it has been smooth sailing, and people like it, I will continue with being positive despite some people's false narrative of who I am.

My exp prior to mid Stormblood was the community being a lot less self-righteous while still being polite.
And this portion of the community that came later started building this extremely prevalent stereotype of players who are so self-centered they feel offended by being asked something or given advice.
You don't pay my sub was always a thing, but Thal's balls did it become insufferable lately...

Glad you have spoken up about this because of what you described. There is a need for dialogue about this and what people can do to redirect people away from this behavior and more towards fostering a positive supporting community...because what I am seeing is a small vocal group of players who want the community to break down for some reason.. and I for one do not want that to happen, It will make for a WOW 2.0. don't think people want that to happen and the two people whom I had "dialogue" with on this thread alone do give me some concern. I will have to keep a heads up on this more in the future when I talk or post anything on here from now on. but I will say from my exp. self-centered people are usually bullies and on there own are not a concern but get enough together and there will be problems. also, I saw them swoop right in as well to counter what I have said... they didn't want anyone to see what I was saying? makes one wonder what they are trying to hide.

Like I said, if your character information is accurate, I'm surprised you had that experience on Jenova. I've never had anything like that happen and I've been on this server for 7 years. You may possibly have found a bad apple, but from my viewpoint, it does seems like there is something you aren't telling us.
