I bought the 70 boost, so what now?

Okay so all my friends are in the 80's and I was already 47. But the look of the boost got the better of me. I already was far enough where the story wasn't gonna effect me and I finished ARR. So, I just wanted to know since I looked at the bottom where my experience bar would be. I noticed the Red crossed diagonal line in between I'm guessing I'm done leveling? Did I buy the 70 boost and it disabled me from leveling? If so I done goofed lol. Likely will be making a new Healer. But just want to know if I can still level once I get to the part where I can do level 70 quests. If so I will just push onward on finishing these quests until I do. Anything will be helpful if not its okay I did it and I'm taking its hardship of remaking a white mage lol.

Sounds like you only have the starter edition where the max level is 60, so by buying a boost and getting yourself to 70, you have bypassed that restriction and so you cannot gain EXP until you buy Shadowbringers, which should allow you to start gaining EXP again.

Although, if you still have the rest of ARR and HW to go story wise, the exp from there isn't going to make a significant difference, so you could hold off from buying Shadowbringers until you complete Heavensward.

You bought a level 70 boost but the game version you have is maxed at level 60.

You can level any other class/job that is included in your game version to level 60. After you purchase the full game (The most recent expansion), the level cap will be increased to 80. This is when you'll be able to gain more EXP on your boosted job.

Remember level hardly means anything if you haven't done the main story. In fact many consider the main story as the traditional leveling and you unlock nearly everything via it

You can level all the way to 80 if you have the Shadowbringers expansion.

Even if you reach level 80, there is no point to being level 80 because you will still need to do the main story quests up to 80. The main story of each expansion builds on the last and is required to unlock new areas and its associated dungeons, trials, raids and other content. You seem to have only done base ARR, so you still need to do the patch quests and then the main story of Heavensward, Stormblood and Shadowbringers and their patches.

You don't need to make a new character because you can play all classes on the same character by switching weapon. There is a blue unlock quest for each class but then you can play it.

If you're still working your way through the story, there is zero reason to buy a level boost. You get enough EXP from the MSQ to level a job all the way and a bit more.
It's only really useful for boosting alt jobs, boosting your main/first job is a bit... pointless.

By "I've level past where the story makes a difference" I assume that means you're in the post-ARR, pre-HW period. That story content isn't meant to give you much EXP, because it was patch content, from when the max level cap was 50 and there was nowhere to go anyway. As soon as you reach HW and level 51 story content, the EXP will start rolling in again.

They said they boosted at 47, they barely scratched into ARR story if that is the case. There are a lot of twists and turns in the patch series.

I'd even go as far as to say that the end of ARR is really where the story truly starts.
It's not that the story before that doesn't matter, but it's moreso world building for what's to come.
