Questions about job stories

I started as bard but it class story quests sucks . Any other dps job with fun story that you would recommend ?
Also I heard a lot of good about dark knight story , i like the i idea of wielding two handed sword , is he like death knight from wow, if that is the case i am not interested in playing him.
I will try paladin instead, also heard his story is decent.

Yeah, DRK's is pretty good too. And touching on non-DPS options I also quite enjoyed SCH and AST's stories.

I'm not sure what it is about Death Knight that would make you uninterested in playing Dark Knight. If it's the gameplay—I haven't touched WoW in years, but Dark Knight is nothing like Death Knight. If it's story, well...

Death Knights in WoW are undead killing machines—literally. If they don't slake their thirst for battle for long enough, they will lose all self control and engage in wanton slaughter until their bloodlust is sated. Dark Knight, by contrast, is closer to a traditional Knight Errant, but with dark magic and mild edginess thrown into the mix.

Couple of things.
You mentioned looking for decent DPS class stories, but then brought up Dark Knights and Paladins.
From a couple of things you mentioned, I'm assuming you're coming over from WoW, where Death Knights and Paladins have DPS specs.
Please be aware that FF14 does not have this, and that Dark Knights and Paladins are pure tanks, although everything is really some flavor of DPS in actuality (FF14 vets know what I mean here)
If you're looking for good DPS class stories, I personally really enjoyed the early rogue story, before you become a ninja, as well as the Dragoon.
The pugilist/monk storyline starts out well, but then peters out into a mostly meh story arc unfortunately.
I mostly play melee classes so I can't really say much about the ranged DPS class stories

If you have heard good things about the paladin story quest, you may have been deceived. The gladiator class quests are okay, but the 30-50 and 50-60 paladin quests are probably the worst in the game. The level 60-70 are about the same quality as the gladiator quests.

Marauder is okay, while warrior from 30-60 is not my favorite. The 60-70 quests are better, but they take a turn that may not be to everyone's taste.

Dark knight is probably the most popular, especially the 30-50 and the 80 quests. I also think they are quite good.

Gunbreaker isn't bad. It mostly serves as a way to provide backstory to the Hrothgar and Bozja.

Lancer was also pretty decent, though maybe nothing groundbreaking. I know people like the dragoon quests, but they never really got interesting to me until the 60-70 quests.

Pugilist is also decent, though the level 30-50 monk quests were kind of boring. I personally believe they got better from 50-70.

Samurai is pretty good from start to finish, but 50-60 is really good.

Rogue is great; same writer as the dark knight quests. Ninja quests from 30-70 aren't bad, but not outstanding. They aren't as great as the rogue quests, and kind the same story beats.

For some reason, I could not follow the archer and bard quests. I want to say the 50-70 bard quests aren't terrible, but I simply couldn't follow along.

Machinist is great. You spend a lot of time shooting people in the kneecaps.

Dancer was fine. Interesting, and has some good music, but I didn't stand out much to me.

Thaumaturge and black mage were fine up to 50, but 50-70 was kinda forgettable. Supporting characters were good, but the plots felt bland.

Red mage is overall great.

Arcanist was pretty good. Summoner was boring IMO, but scholar is fantastic.

I liked the conjurer quests, though a lot don't. White mage gets a little better in the 50-60 and 60-70 quests, but the 30-50 is eh.

Astrologian is also really good.

There are few good DPS job stories. I think only Dragoon, Red Mage, Samurai (to an extent), and Machinist really qualify for DPS. For healers, Scholar's storyline is really good. For Tanks, Gunbreaker and Dark Knight are good. Though in general, Dark Knight has the best job story in the game, since it actually takes what has happened in the Main Story Quests and uses it for the storyline.

Don't forget the crafter and gatherer quests. Alchemist is really good, especially 60-70 which gets into the backstory of a major character.

Botanist acknowledges that you have done an optional dungeon, which is kinda neat.

If I had to rate the stories overall...

Tanks: DRK > GNB > WAR > PLD

Heals: SCH > AST > WHM

Melee DPS: DRG > SAM > NIN > MNK

Ranged DPS: MCH > BRD > DNC

Magic DPS: SMN > BLM > RDM

DRK is a very "personal" story...and I can't say much more about that without it becoming spoilery.

DRG can be considered a prelude to HW in a way and changes the dialogue throughout a fair bit if you opt to finish the level 50 quests prior to starting it.

SCH offers some additional insight into the Nymians, the lesser known third party in the War of the Magi.

MCH ties rather strongly into the social climate of Ishgard and the push towards giving the commonfolk more power and presence in a society where some would rather they stay down in the dirt.

SMN offers a fair bit of additional lore behind the Allagans, has some appearances from MSQ characters, and also has the distinction of being the only job story that has any direct Ascian involvement.

I have reasons why I liked all of the stories in general, but I find those ones had the most reasons I liked them overall.

Dragoon has a really good story for DPS.

Warrior has a good story for tanks.

Scholar has a good story for healers, those are my recommendations.
