Please add holidays events in later cities

If you really want to make new cities useful make new GCs
otherwise yeah, it'd be nice to have the event decor added there since new housing areas also get it.

At the last Endwalker reveal when Yoshi mentioned that they planned on having 6 starting cities back in 1.0 but it was too hard with the time constraints I was shocked. I agreed that would have been too much back then but adding those grand companys now would be amazing.

There is a difference between 'starting city' and 'Grand Company' - cities are exactly that, where as the GCs are just volunteer militaries the 3 main city states of Eorzea set up to deal with the impending Seventh Calamity as their normal military forces are just small militias that are just glorified police forces and were in no position to defend Eorzea from the Garlean threat (this is why the Adventuring System actually exists, to make up for the manpower shortfalls in the citystates' militaries).

Ishgard doesn't have a GC and never will because it already has a full standing army permenantly mobilized to deal with the Dragonsong War (and now, post War's end, are being tasked to aid the Alliance), and Ala Mhigo was conquered by the Empire so the Ala Mhigan military was long disbanded, reduced to the Resistance, thus now liberated the Resistance forces are reorganizing back into a proper military. And the 'sixth' citystate was the colony of New Sharlayan which was totally abandoned by Sharlayan itself when Ala Mhigo fell, and now doesn't count (Idlyshire is not Sharalyan and is just a glorified market town like Revenant's Toll).

And yes Ishgard, Ala Mhigo and New Sharlayan were never included in 1.0 because of 1.0's famously difficult development - Ishgard was the closest players got and even then all players could do was stand at the locked gates of the Steps of Faith and look across at the glistening citadel, never to set foot in it pre-Calamity, and Ala Mhigo and New Sharlayan did not even get that, being referred to in the story and npcs for them appearing but their surrounding areas were never part of 1.0.

Hence lore pretty much prevents any new GCs being formed I'm afraid (to say nothing of SE basically having moved on from them as actual content sadly).

As for seasonal events taking place in other cities other than the three city states, SE never did that with FFXI either - special events were always limited to the three cities and nowhere else (with the possible exception of Jeuno's BGM being replaced by a Christmas themed remix for FFXI Christmas event, even though the actual event quests and minigames never took place there) - so I don't hold out much hope SE will change. There's always a first time though I guess.

The other thing to remember is that even a holiday event would only make the cities populated for the duration of the event. They need more compelling reasons for people to need to go back to cities that aren't as popular that aren't just for a limited time. Though they have added things like collectible appraisers but some cities are still pretty barren. I'm not sure they will be able to do any one thing that will help, unless they make something highly desired that requires going to the non-popular cities.

Kinda spoilery, but I’m still waiting on a festival that was hinted at in a certain 5.0 raid series.
