No one is forced to do it (except new people who don't skip). I've done that roulette less than 5 times since the cutscene changes.

The game throws tomes at you. Why do you need to do it for them? Just do other content.

If there are "no rewards at all" from queueing for mentor roulette, why are you doing so?

There are rewards, just not ones you care to admit to. As I found in this article from last year: https://www.gamepur.com/guides/how-t...al-fantasy-xiv

"Completing multiple Mentor Roulettes earns you achievements, titles, and glamour. The most prized reward is the 2-seater Astrope mount, which you earn after completing 2,000 Mentor Roulettes."

Yeah, they might not be as great as gaining the additional XP that is almost enough to move from level 79 to level 80 through the MSQ roulette, but you're still doing the Mentor Roulette for a reason.
