    Gathering & Materia

Am 80 BTN w/BiS crafted gear. Is gearing in general identical for BTN & MIN?

Thinking about materia, I have a good number of slots. Seat of the pants tells me to go all Perception until any piece hits it's limit, the maybe GP. Curious what the prevailing wisdom is and how come?

Miner and botanist have the same stat/melding priorities. Generally you want around 800 GP for getting max yield on legendary nodes (500 for the +2, 250 for pick cleans +1 unless you want hq). On current legendaries we are unable to get stats high enough for +2 pick clean or the +3 bountiful yield. In general you want your stats high enough to have 100% gather rate, as well as hit whatever stat points the node in general wants you to have for bonuses. 800 gp is also a good number for getting collectibles, as it allows you to buff 2 of your actions in order to reach the 1k max.

OK, assuming I did my math right, I need 36GP to hit exactly 800 (all Aesthete HQ, got some great FC homies!). I think I COULD hit 850, assume not much point in hitting that number... right?

That leaves gather & perception points and that get more complex to figure out what I can put where (I went to town on my combat gear no knowing about allowances per piece of gear!). I take we don't know exactly how much gather is needed to get the least gatherable item in the game is (although hitting 98-99% would seem statically much the same)? Then there's the issue of perception...
