Once you learn it, it's pretty much faceroll content as-in. As I discussed in another thread, I feel like the learning curve itself is rather steep (and correspondingly unforgiving), but the vast majority of groups seem to avoid any stumbles.
That's what Valor is for.
Full Valor is basically ilevel 520, and because many people are increasing their valor DR is going faster and faster as more people catch up.
Plus Essences = very fast runs.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
It's more that the people who do want to use essences have moved to 15-20 min PF groups, which leaves DF with a majority who don't care and hour long runs. Which is basically what the no-essence players told us to do. "If you don't like it, don't join Duty Finder". Fair enough, we won't.

IMO most of the content in FFXIV is pretty brain dead along with Delubrum, I'm still yet to be challenged in normal content! ._.
That Diablo Armament may have been the closet to almost not being brain dead, but it still suffered from it.
Except Savage Raids, those will never be brain dead. >_>

Firm fan of the rolling mountain, where as time rolls on, and participation, things get more and more accessible (minus ultimate). I don't think the participation calls for further nerfs to this content yet though. It's not a good move when many are enjoying it as is or it's the current end wall of content with quite a bit more time to go before the next wall. Of course also fan of min sync concepts for those who want to relive the moment as it was intended (but at the age that is really being done it's so few ran that there should also be the mountain rolled on aspect). If the game was more hardcore focused it wouldn't be a good trait but this game is clearly leaning on the more casual friendly side (and the population shows it, that said there still needs to be content for the people who spend a lot more time / want to play to a higher caliber.. so activating the mountain roll early isn't great, but I really like that for the most part everything does meet the rolling mountain).
On the aside of consumable powers, mentioned it before, but I'm fairly certain if you used a different mechanic people would use them more. If you could socket one into cooldown no consumption or if like x uses = Perma learn. Some people just really don't flow with the consumable concept. For some it's just not a fun thing. Like I /really/ dislike the FFVIII / FFXV magic system. Of course I'll never choose failure over a personal quirk, but I don't enjoy it. Raiders used to the food and potions probably wouldn't understand it but I've seen a few people come forward to talk similarly. I bet if the system changed that far more people would use it. Though of course some no matter what won't use it... But they are usually the same one who is not using the rest of their kit too... So... Lol /shrug then. :P

This is very true. For once, I suggested some of my friends who’s late to delve into BSF to give the DRn PFs a try. Very few times I’ve seen them wanting to run with pugs ever since then. One of those few times they pugged they just left whenever seeing LB3 bar fully charged in first boss. It's more that the people who do want to use essences have moved to 15-20 min PF groups, which leaves DF with a majority who don't care and hour long runs. Which is basically what the no-essence players told us to do. "If you don't like it, don't join Duty Finder". Fair enough, we won't.
When they need certain essence they’d hit me up if I can set up a short farming session together. Easy peasy short farm for a large collective group’s benefit~
Suggestion for the OP: give those PFs a try. You’ll less likely want to run with pugs anymore & will probably see how a nerf would just break the content further. (As if Zadnor medal buffs isn’t already breaking stuffs!)
