Who is the guy in Shadowbringers trailer?

Please don't attack me for not knowing who he is, I'm new.

The guy i mean is the guy with the big sword who fights that big angel bird thingy in the sky at the Shadowbringers trailer. The reason I'm wondering is because he looks badass!

Not a specific character in the game, just more a of a general representative of the player.


(Derplander is not his actual name, just more of a community given name lol)

It's the representative of the player in the trailers. He's affectionately called Derplander because he's a Hyur Midlander.

Since nobody's player character is important enough to be considered the Warrior of Light, the guy in the cinematics and trailers is actually the canon representation of the Warrior of Light.

Our own characters are just stand ins for him. A 'what if' situation, as it were - and even then, many of us don't even consider our character to be a Warrior of Light in the first place. Especially those of us who role-play and portray our character as a humble adventurer, noble, city guard, merchant or some other role along those lines.

My head is playing a scene of people shouting he is we, maybe while the Derplander is getting crushed, "he is we" "he is we".. slowly standing up to do his big spirit bomb whatever attack move... like some sort of believing in tinkerbell chant XD.
