Real recipes turned into fantasy recipe then turned back into real recipes. There is a twitter user that has already been doing this and posting her recipes.. just follow her xD
They got Victoria Rosenthal who also wrote the Fallout, Destiny, and Street Fighter cookbooks to make this one. So at the very least we know the recipes will be tasty.
I /think/ they're talking about Lemon Drop? It's hard to tell because there isn't just one person doing this, but this one has a fair amount of followers. This is their Twitter.

Thank you Enla~
I'm wondering if this cookbook's recipes are based on those dishes sold at SE's FFXIV-themed Eorzea Cafe in Tokyo, which I understand do try to replicate the meals from the game (I've never visted Eorzea Cafe so don't quote me on that!) - given the pandemic has kind of put an end to travel and Japan's current spiralling wave has resulted in resturants and bars being closed under emergency declarations, so maybe this is SE's way of keeping Eorzea Cafe's spirit going even if it's closed.
Either way, it is an interesting piece of merchandise and would be worth getting for those wanting to make their own flavour of Hydaelyn at home!![]()
I haven't been to Eorzea Cafe, but looking at their menu now, most of the dishes seem to be FF spins on typical izakaya fare that you get here in Japan (Japanese pub food). Simple dishes that are inexpensive and easy to prepare with minimal culinary training. As someone who really likes to cook, I would be tremendously disappointed if I got a cookbook with lots of deep fried dishes, or telling me how to heat up sausages.I'm wondering if this cookbook's recipes are based on those dishes sold at SE's FFXIV-themed Eorzea Cafe in Tokyo, which I understand do try to replicate the meals from the game (I've never visted Eorzea Cafe so don't quote me on that!) - given the pandemic has kind of put an end to travel and Japan's current spiralling wave has resulted in resturants and bars being closed under emergency declarations, so maybe this is SE's way of keeping Eorzea Cafe's spirit going even if it's closed.

But looking at the book's sample Starlight Dodo recipe it seems quite nicely done for real cooking, so that's encouraging!
I am rather tempted to purchase it - but how do I broach the topic to my chef that I would like him to cook meals based on cuisine from a videogame...?![]()
