From an ex-wow player.

Hello! I am a new player coming from World of Warcraft and i have to admit something.

I want to thank every single one of those I've met for being such friendly players and guiding me throughout dungeons and in general everything! This is such a good game and I'm having a blast.

I remeber the early days of World of Warcraft where i could play 8 hours a day just because it was fun, but that suddenly came to an end for me. I got bored and really burned out so i found out it was the right time to move on after all those bad things that have happened to Activison Blizzard with them not listening to their players.

I haven't even reached the end content on Final Fantasy and I've got so much more to learn.

So what I'm trying to say here is that I just love the game and it's community! Thanks for taking the time to read.

I played WoW for a lot of years and started playing FFXIV in 2017 because of recommendation from a friend. And loved it ever since. I started splitting my time between both games, but WoW increasingly became the type of game I didn't want to play, so I switched to FFXIV permanently. It took me far too long to realize that I was just addicted to WoW. There wasn't anything there for me anymore.

Why does literally every "ex-wow" player feel the urge to make a post they join the game? I don't get it.

It's nice to share experiences, sometimes it's to be validated, or in the whole case of WoW right now it might be to share good experience + vent about their previous experience. Some people are making posts that are basically like breakup threads and just trying to articulate the feeling of losing a good friend (WoW) but the joy they believe they found a new one.

Maybe a bit blog like atmosphere sometimes, but eh.. I think it's nice for the devs to see players coming in and having a good time, where they are coming from, and it's not like we've other conversations that are dead. If players wanted to discuss specific feedback then we'd see them brought up more, but usually those threads only get a subset of posters.
