leveling racing chocobo

why are rank 40 put against rank 50. rank 50 should have its own race, it makes leveling a chocobo from 40-50 so bad. i mean seriously its sooooo unfun.

Competitors are matched based on rating, not rank. As rating increases, the AI for your NPC competitors improves to make it more challenging.

Unless your racing chocobo has reached the max pedigree level, it's better to retire it at rank 40 and breed for the next pedigree level. There's no benefit to increasing rank from 40 to 50 unless you've reached max pedigree level and have obtained the traits and stat sets you want.
