Botters can easily be caught when reported using click timer programs that time the clicks at which the hack program is clicking at precise exact intervals. So always make sure you report them so they and their historical data can be investigated
You'd think SE was petrified of a lawsuit over some botter not getting a house or something.
Timer clicking programs can determine precise clicks by another hack program because of constant precision. People do get caught and banned.

But they still are now and then getting the boot for good.Listen. People have reported some of the most notorious botters and not a damn thing has been done to them. In game reports, STF reports, dozens sent at once. Sent twice a week for months now.
They're still at it. For years now.
I don't have much faith that reporting anyone for botting will result in any action being taken.

I think this only works if they don't focus target the placard and if they aren't set to busy.

The problem with trying to catch housing botters is someone from SE has to pick up the report and investigate while the illegal activity is taking place. It is just another layer of random on top of the RNG of housing. The only way to really address it would be to automate bot detection, without announcing it, for every plot that goes onto the availability timer. This would allow SE capture and prioritize the most likely bots and remove them. I'm sure the botters would eventually figure it out and randomize their clicks but doing it to the degree it appears human would severely reduce their odds of wining the click race.
