Ok, so you've participated in over 1000 dungeons, raids, or trials, receive 1500 player commendations and finished the level 80 role quest for your chosen job (which is not Miner). Congratulations! You know more about the game from a dungeon/raid/trial level than that new sprout with 10 hours of gameplay! You qualify as a Mentor for DoW/DoM battle jobs. There are a few more of those on your server than just you, so if you don't know something, some other Mentor on the Novice Network will.
The only questions you need to ask at this point are "Do I want to be a mentor?", "Can I keep myself from giving out incorrect information to sprouts about the things I don't know (maps/fashion)", "Is this additional chat channel going to cut into my time chatting as a member of an FC?", "Do I want people to assume I'm obnoxious due to prior experiences with other Mentors". "Do I want to help other players in this fashion?" And, the most important one, "Is it really worth my time to be a mentor"?
Good luck in your evaluation. Remember, 5 months playing can be an eternity in MMO years.
