Do you mean the guy who is the Monk and Samurai? That isn't a Warrior of darkness, it's the representation of us players. If you look, he's in all the cgi trailers.
Keep playing until ShB
I knew it ... But for some reason I wanted to think that it was not so.
Yeah. "Generic Midlander Guy" is just how they represent the Warrior of Light (aka, us players) in the trailers and promotional videos.
The Warriors of Darkness were based on the characters they use to represent the players in these trailers.

It's a way of saying they are the dark versions of you and it was a way to make use of some characters that already had familiarity from the trailers.
Yeah, as the others have pointed out the human-looking guy in the trailers is supposed to be a stand-in for you. The devs have referred to him as Meteor(since he was a meteor survivor), but the community tends to call him Derplander. And as Jeeq said, using a character who looks similar to your stand in as the warrior of darkness is thematic. Someone similar to you(at the surface level anyway) is on a different/the wrong path, how sure are you that youve made all the right decisions along the way? Or that you wont be miss-lead in the future? Its something to think about. Or at least, that was my take on it.
I find that it's pretty common that people don't understand that he's supposed to represent the WoL.
0w0 what are you doing here?
I'm a bit confused with Storm blood. It doesn't seem to follow on with the story very well. People, principals and even voices have changed. And what I really don't get is how and why after you defeat someone they are able function better than before the fight. What did I do, give them a gentle telling off?
It's like what's-his-name, I defeat him yet he goes on to make a long speech as if he had won the fight, and then, get's his balls out and uses them to summon a dirty great big primeval. Sometimes the game really tests your imagination to the point of silly.
After a battle it now feels as if my opponent has felt sorry for me and pretends to have lost just so I don't cry. No one has the heart to tell the warrior of breadcrumbs that they are a joke.
