Moving forward, what expansion 'themes' would you like to see?

    • Heavensward was dragons, snowy crags, Ishgarde.
    • Stormblood was a love letter to eastern cultures in general (Japan/China, Mongolia, the islands).
    • Shadowbringers was a bit more difficult to label, but was essentially an offworld/alternate dimension type (not precisely, of course) expansion that looked at what Eorzea might have resembled had we as heroes not protected it.
    • Endwalker seems to at least be drawing a lot of visual cues from classical Mediterranean cultures (Greek/Roman, etc.), plus the inferred trip to the moon.

Personally? I'd like to see some kind of a wilderness-themed expansion; small outposts, huge pine forests, dusty trails, haunted mines - something very much akin to the American/Canadian/Alaskan west. I also wouldn't mind an Ivalician expansion (Yes, we visited some major areas, but spending an entire xpack in the former Ivalice could be cool). And, finally, it might be cool to do an expansion themed around southern Asia - like, Tibet, Indian jungle ruins, etc. However, I could definitely be sold on a number of other ideas.

What would you like to see?

I'd like an expansion based around traveling to somewhere completely new and largely uncharted where there isn't really a major enemy or political factions to contend with and instead consists of helping pretty much every major nation - such as Hingashi, Garlemald and Sharlayan - stake their claim to new land.

There would be ample ancient ruins to explore and entire zones with aesthetics we haven't seen much of so far such as a giant swamp. Eorzea's influence would be minimal, since we've already thoroughly explored the place and there's little need for a continent so rich in aether to lay claim to even more territory that could otherwise benefit the nations who are not so lucky and require more aid in terms of rebuilding.

A Nordic expansion but I am biased.

Altho less Hollywoodized and stereotyped, I am kinda tired of Nordic countries and people from back in the day being portrayed as dirty and bleak and like it's all either snow or grey ( Just wat? Looking at you Skyrim. ).
They always fall into the '' they're not part of the Abrahamic religions so they're savage '' trope.
Sure snowy landscape far to the north but Nordic countries are very colorful and with great nature.

Also great mythology to draw from, and a lot of architecture that isn't rly explored in the game.

Oh, yep, that's a good one.

An Egyptian-type might also be neat - pyramids, mummies, etc.

I don't care about what theme it is so much as just that it's actually fleshed out this time around, instead of cut into halves or thirds due to constant globetrotting. Ideally, that means truly new content modes built from that theme, too.

If we get a desert Egyption-type expansion, for instance, I'd like to see some sort of desert frontier exploration that can play into both the vibes of, say, Journey, and survival games. Delving into ruins in the style of Myst and/or Indiana Jones. The whole shebang.

If we get a Norse expansion, I want to see maybe some sort of system (of content-augmentation, perhaps, or self-generated open-world content) that ties into the mythology-made-manifest of that region, alongside whatever can really take advantage of the natural and expansive beauty of its locales.

I just want to correct a few things about previous expansions; none have been 1 dimensional but Heavensward; the rest tend to be dynamic. Stormblood had west and east cultures under 1 cause. Shadowbringers covered multiple cultures and places in its own way. They've purposefully have been adopting the A Realm Reborn model where it's not one location like Heavensward but multiple locations where the story narrative takes you to.

So instead of 1 overarching theme i instead would like to see certain locations like Dalmasca, Golmore Jungle, Meracydia, Nagxia, and Roegadyn's homelands such as Farreach and Northern empty.

If i have to choose, i want to finally visit the capital or center of the allagan civilization, and reveal all their secret, or did we already discover everything about them?

I really hope we didnt touch afterlife world like shadow realm...... i mean, the moment we touch that theme, it make death become irrelevent..... dont touch this theme please, lets make death to be as mysterious and fearful as possible

I was actually thinking this would be the best way to advance our GC beyond a certain Rank in order to better prove our leadership qualities. Effectively setting out and setting up a satellite office of our GC in a far off section of the world.

Personally I am seeing more of an Indian theme in Radz at Han and the Endwalker areas. Bright colors and Elephant people for the beast tribe. I am really HOPING to see Garlemald as similar to the entry to FF6. Snowy and a poor-ish industrial town. I am not holding out too much hope though with the changes to the keep proper.

As for a future expansion I would like to see some Time Travel with a Time Mage class where we go back to try to stop the fall of the 14th? to the Void. Probably impossible but might be an interesting attempt.
