    a Limit Job suggest thread

    suggests

    quest hub dungeons
    blue mage: The Wander Palace
    Beastmaster Hullbreaker Isle
    Puppetmaster the Antitower

    Squardonable with the squardon in Grand companies group this may apease people who want them to be straight jobs

    ladder style pvp Tournaments with all 3 jobs be able group together when there come out

    daily quests and Wander tails be able give exp for complete

    craftable weapons and parts for puppetmaster and pet food for beast master also upgradeable peice for dungeon quest hub like be able put a Model wear the limit job
    other ideal include an apprentice mage for blue mage they a younger yellow jack who be awesome quest apprentices

    Relic weapon for limit jobs

    Magitek Pilot - G warrior, armor core, mechwarrior, xenosaga/gears job. Can help smooth out late entry into the job by having mechanic npcs.

    I caution using iconic stuff for the system, unless it ends up becoming an advanced job (has limited and normal components, may level abnormally). Anything iconic introduced should probably be overtuned initially and just seem like a ridiculous level of doting / "worth". For example, imo, Blue Mage was far from that when first released (a lot of really basic spells, spells were undertuned and had to quickly be buffed, etc)- I still think a few tweaks are needed*, but I imagine the reception of blue mage if released as it is now would have been less opposed (certainly some will always have wanted to main the job, and if not advanced, then not possible so those people would always be upset). If it's to be limited it should be borked in as much fun is possible lol (many of blue mage's later spells do this, but a lot of "120 potency, 200 potency" or hyper spammy early design, is not ideal for that).

    *(early spells to be more exciting and encourage easier growth / diversity (not 1k spam, for example) - the later two waves of spells added have a lot more flavor and that flavor should re-inspire the earlier ones (avoiding "potency but a different color" sort of syndrome), adjustment to self-sustain through new earlier spells or perhaps built in healers mode to basic instinct, without making it too ridiculous checking for means to reduce cure spam when doing solo content / need to level past interesting spells with a poor kit so you can then go back unsync with a % chance to earn the more interesting ones, revisit self punishing skills (self stun, etc, ensure they espouse fun or have combos that do that at least), where possible revisit chance based spells so they're less spammy encouraged (like how ultravibration works, good spell design), ensure spells are either equal to their source or more fun than their source (this is better than even truly matching the source, imo) which means a few skills need to be revisited like Fire Angon (lost all the cool flavor), and perhaps Angel Whisper while basic instinct is active adds instant auto raise (instant to prevent messing up boss mechanics, will help it keep some of the neat title it had in other games- perhaps another buff, unrelated to basic instinct, being when raised you also temporarily have Warden's Paean effect),

    Personally I'd like Blue Mage, Beastmaster and Puppetmaster to share a hub somewhere. A place where they all hang out and make jokes about the real jobs.

    Being able to use limited jobs with squadrons would be good, I don't really see how said change would negatively effect anyone. I'd also like to use them in PotD and HoH.

    Not bothered about PvP really, being able to duel at wolves den could be cool though.

    Daily quests would be nice, in fact I'd like the whole leveling experience to be better to be honest. Everyone just cheeses past it anyway as it is.

    Relic weapon questline would be nice.

    I struggled to think how you'd do the collecting aspect of puppetmaster for a while, beastmaster would obviously tame a collection of beasts, but what would PUP do?

    I think maybe an archeologist/researcher angle could work, master of all things constructs. You'd go and poke around ruins and stuff, plenty of them around, fight the various machina/golems/magical constructs within, and study the remains to figure out their secrets.
    You could then build/salvage parts to construct puppets, which you would program with various compatible techniques.

    I imagine puppetmaster almost like the Golem system from Legend of Mana: You turn objects into parts to determine its attack's stats and behaviors, and do simple logic programming where the more complex programs have a chance to fail stringing attacks together.

    This has a lot of beneficial outcomes, like making gear overall more valuable on the MB because people would want to collect all sorts of items for various parts with different stats, behaviors, and 'memory costs.' And having a mega customizable job with a crazy amount of depth and math you can do to tweak your puppet would be a neat way to make a very competitive/replayable limited job.

    Okay that's great champion, we got people making inspired suggestions for more mould-breaking content and we gotta listen to 'ehh, weh, nuhh, they should spend more development time on normal jobs instead of what you want so I can grind them to the level cap and then forget about them as a concept other than a 90 on my search info'

    Whatever the successor to blue mage is I only hope it ends up creating a completely new avenue by which to do stuff and isn't just a retread of 'do these raids with 8 of this class lol'

    In FF11 you had head parts and everything below the neck as other parts, and you combined these two to determine what your puppet could do and how it would function.

    A natural evolution of this could be to just give us Medabots, where you put your puppet together like a big robotic model kit that can mix and match pieces between sets.
