As a summoner is there any way to increase my survivability in hard dungeons?
I avoid the telepaths and even if I position near another DPS or healer I find myself dying far to often from stuff I can't even see.

Unless you're REALLY undergeared, if you're dying in dungeons a lot it's almost certainly a matter of not doing mechanics properly. Unless the tank or healer is slacking, if a DPS dies in a dungeon it was probably their own fault for a missing a mechanic.
Is there any specific fight or mechanic you're having trouble with? Not all telegraphs are as obvious as orange floor circles.
What "hard dungeon" are you dying in ?
The best way to increase survivability in doing mechanics correctly.
So we could maybe explain some thing, but you'll have to tell us what dungeon.
Dungeons are very forgiving when it comes to mistake. And I doubt you meet healer that never heal you.
OR
You're extremely undergear to the point that you don't even survive unavoidable damages.
EDIT: I checked your lodestone character page and indeed, you need to change your gear.
Try bying some ilvl 270 gear in Idyllshire with your poetics tomestone or buy some to a vendor in Rhaglr's Reach
Change your weapon(book) and rings first. They are the weakest armor you have.

I was not dying all the time just usually before others. I had the feeling something was wrong. Thank you.
Attain the maximum item level for your level. Outside of aetherytes in cities there is a blue bag icon on the map. You can purchase gear from it using poetic tomestones you've accumulated at level milestones of 50, 60 and 70.
Purchase some item level 510 high quality food from the market board. This will increase your health by 10% which helps a lot with surviving.
Keep an eye on the cast bar of the boss. When the cast bar completes, the attack registers, so move out of an attack before the cast bar completes. You should also keep an eye on your environment because attacks in expansions can be based on what is happening at the sides of the arena.

I have been looking for the cast bar on my hud so that I can centre it on my screen. The thing is I cannot see anything named 'casting bar'. What is it actually called?
It's the one called Progress Bar.
Progress Bar is your casts. To see the boss casts, target the boss and look above the target bar. You can also do /focustarget <t> and see it above the focus target bar.
Casts also appear in the enemy list so you can see what extra enemies are casting.
I wish SMN was a glass cannon so I could kick it till it collapses into a million pieces while betrayed tears run down my face. ;_;
/runs away crying
Thanks found it.
