Delete it all and restart?

I played during the free trial period from a few years ago via my SE account and haven't really touched the game since, forgetting most of the story for both the main quest and my job class.
I was interested in hopping back in again as the newest free trial seemed very appealing. However, as you might've guessed, I can't apply for that due to having played in previous free trials and am relegated to the 2 week free trials that come and go.

So my question is at this point, would it be best to just erase everything and start from scratch (via SE again if possible or Steam)? I haven't made a whole lot of progress (and even still don't remember much aside from maybe the Ifrit fight), never subscribed/paid for anything at any point, and I haven't acquired and special limited items in that time I did play.

You can either make a new account and start over with a better free trial or just buy the Complete edition.

You should just start from scratch.
The old trail didn't go to far and you probably have no rare items in your inventory.

With the new free trail you have a lot more content to play through without paying anything.

I would also advise to use the SE launcher.
When you read about launcher problems then steam is mostly the problem.

That sounds worthwhile to start over so you can use the free trial for a while before needing to subscribe again.

I do see a lot of preference for the SE version.
But since I already use the SE launcher, how much would I have to 'burn down' before I can use the lvl 60 trial?
Or do I just need to make an entirely new account email and all?

Now is a great time to break out the plastic... the CE is going to 24 US. As it includes 30 days of game time, kinda like you're buying the game for 9 bucks. I HAD looked at doing the trial but first researched the restrictions... which I immensely disliked. Besides I'd have NO ACCESS to these forums!

based on your signature, you're speaking from experience :P

Though with my already busy schedule, if I were to have my trial on a timer, I feel like i'd be wasting that time by not using it every day, even if I'm out of town.
So I think the play till 60 thing is right for me and my current situation.
I do like the pretty affordable CE though, so if things live up to my expectations, I might get the whole thing

Just be aware that once the sale is over, the complete edition goes up to $60 I think. Just checked, they don’t say for how long it will go for. Pretty sure that you can buy now, then continue to play the trial, your sub only starts when you register the code you will get when it was purchased. Still always check the fine print.
