I have stated my point, the changing of the Sage icon is nothing more then a minor attempt at positive PR, the fact that people have not brought up the other examples in such discussions means that SE has no reason to consider doing anything about it.
Ah i see what you mean lol. Yeah it does just seem like a random pr move. Especially with the other examples theyve never brought up.

Nobody's avoiding it. You're ignoring the people with the phobia telling you that it isn't just triggered by holes. Not everything with holes triggers it. Sometimes it's specific patterns of them. Sometimes it's size related. Sometimes it's color related. What causes the aversion in one person may not in someone else.
Also, to the idea triggers in game and people not complaining about it, I have things that skeeve me out in game and I try to avoid them or not look at them since they are normal, everyday things that belong there. So I don't personally complain about those because this is a "me" issue.
In this case, someone was skeeved out by the Sage icon, and they gave feedback. That doesn't mean they haven't given feedback on other things that may have bothered them. It just means SE saw the feedback and decided they could take some action, for whatever reason.

I still think that the devs weren't happy with it themselves and then just used this as an easy excuse/ explanation for the change.
Because it really makes no sense in the grand scheme of things that this one thing specifically would warrant a change for this particular reason.
I am fine with the change, nice for them to listen to some players. Heck we dont even know if it was only because of player feedback. Maybe more of the dev team looked at it and some may or may not have gotten uncomfortable too. We simply only know the reason that they have told us, there could be more behind. This was a small and probably easy change. They did not even need to inform us too. They could have waited until the release and if anyone asked they could have just said that it was not fully finished. Telling us about it beforehand is good imo. We always want more communicatin and that is what they have done.
I also see no reason why this should be in any way bad for us or the future of the game. Would anyone write the same if SE listen to their feedback? Who is to decide what counts as good feedback that should be listen to and what not?
Also calling the current storyline bad is really surprising to me after all the talk and post how wonderful the devs are about it not being so black and white. Again can a story only be good if its only going your way?
They could’ve just….not said anything. That’s the problem. If it was a legal case or whatever, they could’ve just not said anything. The fact they went about it to just try and gain pr is what’s scummy to me. There wasn’t anyone with the actual phobia complaining, so if the phobia was the problem they went about it the wrong way. If it was any other thing that caused them to change it, then they lied in their announcement. This all could’ve been avoided by just…not saying anything lmao.I'm aware what the announcement said, but do you think they would come out and say "we're changing this because we were about to get sued" or do you think they'd spin it and say "actually this new design is better for you because phobia"
They're under no obligation to inform us if legal action was pending if it even was.
The phobia is such a weirdly specific thing that I'm inclined to take them at their word on it. They didn't need to even provide an explanation at all. They could have just been like 'hey we decided to redesign the icon here's the new one' without having to get into it at all. EW is still in development afterall.
The thing that’s interesting to me is, they claim that it was affecting players globally. Yet, the only post i’ve been able to find even talking about it is the jp forum one, again, about someone who didn’t even have the phobia and was filled with people who actually had it saying it wasn’t a big deal. So, there’s a lot of weird things going on with the whole address letter. The phobia is such a weirdly specific thing that I'm inclined to take them at their word on it. They didn't need to even provide an explanation at all. They could have just been like 'hey we decided to redesign the icon here's the new one' without having to get into it at all. EW is still in development afterall.
