The New Sage Icon, Thoughts?

Phobias aside I think both the Reaper and the old Sage icon are a bit too busy and over-designed, the new Sage icon does looks better.

not sure how you see reapers as busy or over designed its just a circle and a scythe

Just the scythe would have looked better, what is the circle even supposed to be? The hat? Does the hat need to be in the job icon?

I don't feel particularly strongly about it and I don't hate it, I just prefer simpler designs for the job icons.

Yeah, I've seen this before and it's all I can see every time I see it now.

Like I said, I don't hate the designs but I don't particularly like them either.

I don't envy them though, it must get difficult trying to design something that encapsulates the jobs in a single icon.

I'm a person repulsed by those 'holes in hands' Photoshops you run into now and again, and the original icon provoked absolutely zero reaction. I think this was a pretty clear-cut issue of people complaining just to complain. Get a grip.

"It doesn't affect me personally, therefor it is objectively not an issue. Everybody else is being dumb, because only MY opinion matters."

Like, I have what I would call a phobia of deep waters, but I can deal with some things and not with others (the Tempest gets me only a little spooked, but I can barely watch a video of Subnautica). EDIT: But I don't expect all people to react the way I do.

Unfortunately this seems like just the beginning. Give these people an inch they’ll take a yard. Who knows what other things on game now will start to trigger them and they’ll need to be pandered to yet again.

The problem with this slippery slope thinking is that most people understand that phobias are irrational fears, and that they are the exception, not the rule. It's nice when they cater to these little things, but it's understandable when they can't or it would be too ridiculous, like say, going back and removing the Ruby Sea or the Tempest just for a handful of players.

Then perhaps people so deeply afflicted should stop playing the game, rather than expecting the game to cater to their every idiosyncrasy.
